RAIPUR: Three Cobra jawans were on Tuesday injured in a gun-battle between paramilitary forces and Maoists in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Dantewada district.

The encounter took place in restive forests of Kodanar under Aranpur Police Station limits when security forces were returning after an anti-Naxal operation in the region early this morning, Dantewada superintendent of police, Kamlochan Kashyap told PTI.

A squad of Cobra's (Compact Battalion for Resolute Action), a specialised unit of CRPF, 201 battalion was mobilised from Jagargunda (Sukma) for anti-Naxal operations since yesterday.

On their way back to their camp this morning, when security forces reached Kodanar forests, a group of armed Naxals opened indiscriminate firing on them leaving three jawans injured.

However rebels fled to the core forest, when jawans retaliated, the SP said.

Soon after being informed, reinforcement was rushed to the spot, he said, adding the injured personnel are being retrieved from the forests.

Further details are awaited.

. . .
Speedy recovery for our Jawans and hunt down all those who are responsible. ASAP

. . .
COBRA Commandos were returning for their regular coy changeover which takes after certain period of time. Maoist knew Commandos will have to tread through road which Cobra never do during ops or naxal area because of IEDs but they had vehicles with them which they had to protect. Naxals blew an IED which blasted between two jawans who were walking in straight line, injuring both of them and one next to them. One jawan had his arm fractured and other two had minor bruises. Immediately return fire was opened at naxalite and they were chased in jungles after which they fled taking advantage of darkness. Blood stains and carry bags of naxals were found from the spot where they ran from. Commandos has vowed to take the head down of this naxal leader this time.

Brother i know that many of our citizens don't even care for the brave hearts who are serving in our CAPFs.I bet most of them didn't even hear the names of all the CAPFs in their entire lives and even if they did, they are far too "busy" in their own shit to even give a proper thought to the plight of these brave jawaans who are constantly fighting the enemies of our Motherland for the last 7 decades. But let me remind you that there are still some people like me who care a lot for you guys.I know that we can't do anything physically for our brave jawaans as we are just some ordinary citizens bt still when a Jawaan makes the supreme sacrifice it brings tears to our eyes.We might not provide any substantial help in your fight against the enemies of India but believe me our prayers are and always will be with you and your families.Anyway stay safe brother and finish those scums.Jai hind!!
