However the core team on Agni V is a little jittery on the upcoming test. They believe the govt has pushed them into it about 4 months too soon.. One of my team member's husband is a part of that core team..

DRDO must have a better way of communicating and setting expectations. I think they should take a leaf out of what folks do in IT industry. Under promise and over deliver. Had they said that they will test this missile next year, I would not have an issue at all.
Unfortunately their PR somehow announces early and ends up with missed deadlines.

You shouldn't stick to that belief. It is what it is, just a belief.

First, you have to test-fire something equal to Agni-3 (3500-4500km), and THEN think of making
something like Agni-5/6. It might be true that in the past you have tested your own weapons equivalent
to our's, but you're increasingly lagging behind.

Akash SAM can intercept targets with RCS of just 0.2m^2. We'll be inducting 2000 of these missiles.
Make something like that.

Shaurya is Hypersonic Glide Missile (HGM) with speed of Mach 4 and range of 750-850km. It is almost
impossible to intercept.
Make something like that.

K-15 is a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) with range of 750+km. It'll be
used on our Arihant-class SSBNs.
Make something like that.

Astra is a beyond-visual range AAM (BVRAAM) with range of 80km. It'll be used on our IAF and INAF fighters.
Make something like that.

You cant make a AAM, Hypersonic Glide missile, IRBM, or SLBM and you dream of ICBM

DF-21,25 range around 3000 km , you cant hit southern cities of India with this .... With this kind of range you cant hit any city in India from any part of China (say a missile fired from even north eastern part of china for example), only from close to border you can strike may be .... thats why we are developing Missiles with range of 5500 km so that the missile fired from any part of India can hit any part of china ... get the difference now ???
