Hmm, this is a picture of a well-knwon building in Tehran (a city closely monitored by the Bsijis). So that slogan is an official one. Note that the translation to English was made less offensive with complete disregard to the inaccuracy. It should be "death to the U.S" (not down with the U.S).

Iran should count itself lucky to have a pragmatic leader like obama in the white house, i dont see any other U.S leader who would have come out with such a deal for iran. Let me explain it a different way. The past can only be claimed by the people who lived in the past, the present cannot claim the past, the future cannot claim the past or present. So unless Iranians have built a time machine they cannot claim to be the same people as the ones who built empires. You can be proud of past and learn from it and show it off to the world but you can never claim that you are the same people.

Shame that Pakistan has gotten closer to the Arabs to the point of considering themselves Arab. Even today Iranians use the more secular Khuda Hafiz which is seen in India, while the Pakistanis use Allah-Hafiz which is more prevalent in the Arab world.
