It's being shutdown because the Democrats still think the Liberal Left is the majority of their voter base. So they are holding out on an illegal immigration issue (a Liberal Left agenda) and causing a government shutdown. This is going to backfire because they are going to aggravate/allienate the Reformist Lefters (like me) who think this isn't an issue worth defending.

The Liberal Left is the Democrat's equivalent of the GOP's wacky Tea Party subgroup.

Your reading comprehension is zero. One of the main reasons Trump's approval ratings are low is because it takes into consideration the Reformist Lefters who didn't vote for Hillary (they didn't vote for Trump either).

Since he got 50% of the vote you'd think his ~35% approval rating is showing a sudden downturn. No it isn't. He had only ~35% on the day of the election. However Hillary's was worse. She had 100% of the Republicans and a good percentage of the Reformist Lefters disapproval. She was probably in the 30% range. Many Democrats (like me) simply refused to vote on election day. The Democrats lose a chunk of their voting base and Trump wins by default due to the lowered turnout.

The day after the election Hillary and the Liberal Left are wondering how they could have possibly lost. Trump had such low ratings they should have won easily..so they thought. Well there wasn't a last minute switch of people suddenly voting for Trump..there was simply a large number of people who stayed home.
