The controversy and heated exchanges on Yoga and Surya Namaskar just wouldn't rest.

On Tuesday, BJP MP Yogi Adityanath said that those who opposes yoga have no right to live in India and should instead live in a dark room, say reports.
"People who are calling Surya Namaskar communal, I request them that at least during the day, the sun lord never deprived anyone of its light based on any caste or creed.
Even after that if they are trying to bring the sun under communal parameters, I laugh at their thinking. And I would request them to not even take in the sunlight, and should lock themselves in houses and dark places during the day," he said in an interview.
This comes a day after All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) decided to launch a nationwide campaign against making 'Surya Namaskar' and Yoga compulsory in schools.
The AIMPLB also informed that they will discuss issues like attack on freedom to propagate one's religion in a separate session and have plans to launch a campaign in this regard.
The central government has said that participation in celebrations to mark 21 June was not mandatory.
The controversy around the International Yoga Day has been brewing for a while. While the minority communities feel its the Modi government's way of enforcing "Hindu practices" on them forcefully, the government has maintained that 21 June celebrations have nothing to do with religion.

NEW DELHI: Accused by opposition parties many times of making provocative statements, Bharatiya Janata Party's controversial member of parliament Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday suggested that those who objected to the 'Surya-Namaskar, live in a closed room or must jump into the sea.

Earlier, the Centre has decided to drop 'Surya Namaskar' from 'asanas' to be performed by people across the country to commemorate 'International Day of Yoga' on June 21. The trimming of the drill is aimed at catering to the sensibilities of the minorities in the wake of opposition from Muslim groups.
Surya Namaskar, a yogic practice for comprehensive development of the body, is considered a crucial component for improvement of holistic health.
Earlier in April, the government had come under attack on the use of "Aum", a chant, while issuing a common protocol for celebration of the International Yoga Day.
