What's new

This is not the nineties !

''Gentlemen, this is not the era of nineties, if you don't sell to us, we have several other options available to us now, who are ready and willing to supply us with our requirements''......the very words PAF Chief conveyed to the Americans during his recent visit to Washington and Pentagon. The visiting PAF delegation further stressed that at ''one point the PAF solely relied on US equipment which no doubt it found very reliable and efficient specially a platform like the F-16, which the PAF has expert iced on for over 30 years, however if hindrance and hurdles still prevail then PAF wouldn't and doesn't need to sit and wait in hope of clearance as PAF has evaluated or is in process of evaluating several platforms in both East and West''.... The statement of offer by the Russian minister is very much relevant in the Pentagon corridors. The news of China sending a J-31 to Pakistan is just not feasible for a brand new single platform to be transported with all the support systems, however a few PAF pilots evaluating the J-31 in China can't be ruled out. It's also worth mentioning that the eight F-16s ordered are standard Block-52s with some extra PAF specific gadgets.
Before going for J-31 we need a third 4.5th Generation platform like SU-35 or J-11 D and at least 3 squadrons.

Zarvan bhi few days back u r advocating J-10 what about that

D i believe dual seat version can u explain little more about D version of Block 52+

I would only say that it's the most capable aircraft in the region, see the raised spine, reportedly it's packed with cutting edge gadgets.

Hi,

Thanks for the post. The question is that is the PAF looking to procure the Blk61 F16 in the current future or what----. If it does---then the possibility of the SU35 fades away.

But the need for a heavy strike aircraft does not dissipate-----. So---the focus needs to be multi pronged----. The future F16 procurement must not stop the purchase of a heavy-----these are two items that need to be run in parallel.

You buy another platform---and it takes you anther 5 - 8 years to integrate---. Paf is already behind schedule for the heavy----.

F16 BLK 61 wuld be a very welcome addition if they go that way----. It s all about the timing.

Windi bhai

I respect you.

But this type of thiinking is empty bravado unless Pakistan has 30 billion dollars cash set aside.

We must realize that USA exchanged defense services with Pakistan. This is how we have 40+ F-16s flying.

We can never exchange this much services with Russia.

And thus we can have 4 helicopters (OK may be 10) or 5 SU-35.

Please look at our economic situation before thumping chest.

Thank you

Pakistani's should know majority of your generals r in Pentagon payroll ,so they cannot go against american interests

Oh quit this $hit.

payroll this or payrool that.

Pentagon has India desk where Indian general is posted. Is he on Pentagon payroll.

Stupid post

@Windjammer do u know...whats the logic and wisdom behind requesting only 8 more f-16s from US?

if we can exchange services for 8 planes then we can only get 8.

It is simple maths.

There is no free lunch.

Now if we wanted 60 F-16s, we should have gone in Yemen to clear the Iranian mess.

But we didn't.

Hence only 8.
