Sorry for your burnt ego. But expecting other people to have the same affection as yourself is a disease. One of my college classmates hates China and I don't blame her even though my own memory in China is fairly positive but mostly in youth. Her dad was abused to death during the cultural revolution and he was actually of a high position in China government at that time. Her life should have been comfortable but it was shattered after his death. Folks with rampant nationalism fever will never understand suffering endured by their own neighbors.

That is a very naive assumption which shows the lack of life experience. I joined this forum because I like military knowledge and I live military knowledge because I grew up in the military. Chinese military actually for that matter. What does it have to do with nationalism? Or is it just another case of you to misuse English word? You are deliberately confusing the difference between Chinese patriots and American murica. Chinese patriotism is manifested in discipline, organization, collectivism, Sacrifice spirit and so on. It is too different from Western patriotism.

They are trained to do so. Nobody would know he needs to stop and pay respect to the national anthem until he is told to do so. They need to be imbued with that kind of respect through education. It doesn't come naturally. Same with Chinese. Same with Americans.

No need to try to make someone understand, particularly those who have vastly different experiences. If I were you, I would just say: I like it; get lost.

To be honest, I don't understand why someone would like to lose a night sleep for it. I can understand if they just need to get up a little early, say 5AM. But the whole night? Come on. Do they just have too much time and energy to burn? I used to just watch the sunset ceremony. The crowd was smaller then and schedule was more friendly.

But when Chinese voice their freedom of expression to defend their culture from misjudgement by foreign people.

I mean China is a developing country, with a GDP per capita of $12,000. When your country went from a backwater craphole to the world's 2nd largest economy with improved conditions within 20 years, you would be proud wouldn't you? For Greece, China would catch up to them in maybe 10 years as the GDP per capita will likely more than double to $20,000 + and I guess you can't judge anymore. I think it' possible considering Greece's GDP is pretty shit compared to 10 years ago, just search it up.
