chinese trains have become really fasst. i wanted to take one from beijing to xian but was toooo tired.. hence stayed in BJ.. but i see that their seats are like first class of emirates (or better)..

That doesn't make sense to live in Beijing and work in Shanghai, that is too far. One business meeting a week, that makes sense.

Instead what will happen is the continual agglomeration and consolidation of massive megalopolises. So Shanghai will become one huge megalopolis stretching from Nanjing to Hangzhou with a population of 100 million. There will be other ones like the Jingjiji area (Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei) and the PRD (Pearl River Delta) and also the Chongqing-Chengdu corridor. All of these will be massive megalopolises with over 100 million in population and economies rivaling that of entire countries, like Japan.

No just a response to beijingwalker saying how terrible between Beijing and Shanghai. He probably never travels from one country to another by rail. Here a daily praxis in the EU nothing special.
Not Paris but people of Elsas-Lothringen bordering Germany speak German. Great parts of Swiss and Italy speak German.
