What's new

they will be good targets for our air defence systems India on sale of Chinese drone to Pakistan

S 400 is in Chinese arsenal. They will soon build counter measures. Indian military planners must have been paid off with Russian female agents, to ignore that reality. Counter measures will eventually end up in Pakistan's arsenal.

.
With the WingLong-2 drones Pakistan's war on terror will get a massive boost and PAF can reduce its asset deployment on western border for re allocation. And they will be cheaper to operate than Gunships and Jets.

This purchase is not India centric.

I beg to differ!!!! It's the policy statement from the Indian NSA that India wants to fight till the Last Afgan!!!! Add, Last ISIS, Last BD PM etc. to the list!!!! It's a blow for the Indian strategists....

Ghalib ko arram sey sohney dou aur 2018

In 2018, it's you who is still dreaming about 1971.
And where does F-22 or S 400 come into equation when the talk here is about shooting down drones, don't tell me you are going to waste your alien technology on some drones....just as your MKI has made history by shooting down a balloon.
BTW, this is 21st Century, age of spy satellites, listening devices, monitoring stations.....kuch aur tu tum say khatam karney ka khawab choro aur pehley apni spy Pigeon drama karney ki stupid habits khatam karo.....
I know you dont wanna mention 71, If pakistan want broken intwo, someway or the other that too would have been a victory for pak like 65 and 1999as per Pakistani Logic.

You dont dream about History, You are either feel proud or be shamed. When people carve fantasies from history, ( taking pride in shooting a drone ) need to be reminded that what they are really talking about ...what have they REALLY lost so that they understamd the reality.

Infact, Pakistani Establishment knows it much better, and know their capability and history well... hence the Proxy Warfare was initiated.

fastforward 2018

Indians got an upper hand when it came to Economic warfare.

Mate we are living in 2018, this ain't 1971 anymore.

Live in present times. We destroyed your India into three pieces.

Now cry me a river.

So much for Akhand Bharat.

How does India have the upper hand here? Sure India is getting S-400s, but do you think we are just going to sit there and do nothing. We will find a way to counter S-400 eventually.

Also there is a chance that India may get American sanctions for getting S-400s.

Now shoo.

Engines are important but they're not the sole determinants of performance.

Not the sole, but you can say 90%, if you want to throw around figures.

No matter how good the airframe, if the engine sucks, the aircraft sucks. India's first jet, HF-24 Marut suffered from that problem. The airframe was so good that it could supercruise even with underpowered engines that lacked afterburners. But the program had to be abandoned because of weak engines.

Neither the Heron nor the Wing Loong II have engines that are inadequate for their onboard avionics. As long as the engine produces enough juice to power onboard avionics/sensors, and there is no indication that they cannot, the other comparators such as raw speed, ceiling, endurance (perhaps not so much the last one) are not main determinants of performance for systems that increasingly rely on circuits and chips to carry out their roles.

How often do you creatures talk about 1962 or maybe you prefer the Chinese sitting on your face as they come and go into your territory as they please.....and we know the Indian logic well, rewrite the history part that is hard to swallow.
We also know how brave you Indians really are.....in 1971, you needed Muktis to protect your back side, in Kargil you needed help from two countries to save you from further humiliation while fighting within your own borders and 2002 after amassing almost a million troops and sitting on your backside for a whole year, you eventually ran back with your tail between your legs.
Yea fast forward to 2018.....more drama to fool the nation and lets celebrate a farce surgical strike but otherwise, in the words of Jairam Ramesh.....

One more Diff ...
1971 ---- American Lackey
2018------Chinese Lackey
Who would know better about it since it runs in your blood.

Heron and WL2 are not going to fight each other, or other aircraft.

"Enough juice" is subjective to the quality and capability of the electronics carried.

And as long as there is enough "juice" to power the sensors, minute differences in speed/payload/range/ceiling are superfluous so long as they do not interfere with the UAV's mission.
