I guess you have never filed a patent in your life. Pop quiz, what is Microsoft's first patent? Just think about it and then search. You will be surprised with what pops up and this is not actually that bad of a patent, there are worse. Hint, it is not even remotely related to computers.

WIPO and likes of them are mostly beauracratic organizations and so is filing for a patent; there is no check for even the validity of invention. I know because I have filed two; just because my university was footing the bill. For your information, even US immigration, when deciding to give visa based on merit, discounts patents as a sign for merit -- if you do not support it with evidence that the patent was actually implemented in a product. Look at criteria for O-1 and EB1A.

Your quotes do not add any further information but merely the number of patents filed. If there is anyone ignorant about patents here, it is you.
