Theresa May 'would go to war' to defend the sovereignty of Gibraltar

as a layman viewing a map... it doesn't quite look like that way. Looks like it should be part of Spain and its "Britishness" may be a consequence of an imperial past.

I'm saying this as someone who doesn't have a dog in the fight; just stating an observation.

True it's close to Spain, but it's been British for the last 300 years. The Spanish fought wars and lost territory, including this one.

I would bet on Spain In a virtual Spain-UK war over Gibraltar ;p Not like it's even gonna happen;p

Is that a joke? Their military is many times smaller, their economy is total rubbish and their access to the resources of war, one being population less than that of the UK. You'd lose your bet. There isn't going to be a war anyway.

.
It would be great to see what our genius president does if two members of NATO go to war against each other.

.
whaaaaaaaaaaaaat? The UK is of course a shadow of what it used to be militarily...but, it would still destroy the vast majority of countries and Spain :lol:

The Spanish Army can't roll around the ground and get players sent off in the battle field like Busquets does on the football pitch!

LMAO!!!!!!

. .
The U.K threatens Spain ? Time for the EU to create a coalition to supress the British threat to Spain. The conditions have never been so clever. I'd gladly take the command of the southern army group for the Sussex front. :p:

Just be careful dear boy what you wish for. When the Americans show up on our side, along with the Canadians, Aussies and our little bro NZ, be prepared for a long night. We promise to go easy on you. :omghaha:

I think Irish And Scots would Join the conquest.:omghaha:

The Scots will be leading the charge on the Spanish. :devil:

Remember your the one that needs to ship the troops and they only need to defend the strait or you think you will march through whole Spain with what you got... If you get your troops in ...

And we agree to one thing ... That the war will never happen ;p

Norway reporting in, Sir:sniper:!

Time to take back the Isles:enjoy:.

Well that's a fine thanks after the help we gave you lot during the war.

Oh Mother Russia, it's time for dinner.....:crazy_pilot:

It's not far from us. Our Navy can completely shut down Spanish shipping and supplies, whilst at the same time forming beachheads near the rock. It's easier considering we have a lovely landing strip there and a garrison. The rest is just a case of walking through. :big_boss:
Yes of course I know there isn't going to be a war. The Spanish aren't so stupid. :lol:

So,Spain needs to divert the Royal Navy and British Army so that the invasion is quick and successful.

The Southern Army Group ;

A combined Franco-German army led by your good Sir Vergennes charged of the invasion by the Sussex.

80.000 soldiers
12.000 cavalry
300 canons.

The Northern Army Group ;

A combined Danish-Norwegian-Swedish army + Scottish volunteers led by the Marshal Christensen will be charged of the invasion by Scotland.

24.000 soldiers + 15.000 scots
3.300 cavalry
80 canons.

The Western Army Group ;

A combined Italian-Austrian-Polish-Hungarian-Romanian army + Welsh volunteers led by the Marshal Galieni will be charged of the invasion by Wales.

46.000 soldiers + 7.000 Welsh
6.000 cavalry
150 canons.

The Eastern Army Group ;

Finally,Russia will give its help to the coalition with a Russian army group + other European nations led by the Marshal Kafarov charged of the invasion by Norfolk.

120.000 soldiers
24.000 cavalry
480 canons.

-
The main depart points of the coalition will be Ireland,France,Norway and the Netherlands.

The coalition will make the junction and encircle London before the final assault.

The british are determined to defend London. They mobilized all their remaining forces.

The battle will be long and bloody.

The biggest cavalry charge + heavy canonade will be ordered to break the remaining British lines and create the confusion on the enemy army corps.

Then I suggest you also look a bit further north in Europe, at Kaliningrad.

When the Americans show up on our side,

They'll be too busy fighting off a Norwegian insurrection in Minnesota to offer much help:devil:.

Proximity is no measure of who a piece of land "should" belong to. Norway has sovereignty over Bouvet Island in the South Atlantic, as well as Peter I Isle, which is part of the Antarctic Shelf.

Bouvet Island is over 13526.5 Kilometers from the Norwegian mainland.

Hang about my dear fellow, have you actually asked the Nordic countries? They are not joining this coalition. The Netherlands ha! The Dutch fleet helped us capture the rock. The Dutch will join us again @Penguin

Oh British lines never falter my friend. Welsh volunteers, now you are really clutching at straws. The Southern Group would be met by the army South of London, tasked with its defence. Once engaged you will be flanked by our large force, hidden in the forests near Royal Tunbridge Wells.
The Northern army will be met with fierce hit and run attacks, which will form part of a ruse, for the the large army that would have set sail from Liverpool. It will be supplied at Kirkwall and then arrive in Aberdeen Harbour. Your petty landing ships would be no match. Your Northern army would be taken by complete surprise.
That leaves Norfolk and the lone Russian force. The line between Peterborough, Cambridge and Ipswich will hold strong. This will leave your back once again exposed for our force from Scotland to arrive right behind your backs again. That's the beauty of being an Island nation.

The Americans are in Europe! Our CANZ brothers have already been informed and they'll be here by our side in time.

Sorry, no can do. Not voluntarily.

The royal family in the Netherlands are related to just about every other monarch in Europe. Through his great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather Jan Willem Friso, Prince of Orange, King Willem-Alexander is a cousin of Margrethe II of Denmark, Albert II of the Belgians, the Grand-Duke of Luxembourg, Harald V of Norway, Juan-Carlos of Spain, Albert II of Monaco, and Queen Elizabeth. Our King is 889th in line to the British throne!

Royal Dutch Shell plc (LSE: RDSA, RDSB), commonly known as Shell, is an Anglo-Dutch multinational oil and gas company headquartered in the Netherlands and incorporated in the United Kingdom. It is one of the six oil and gas "supermajors" and the fifth-largest company in the world measured by 2015/16 revenues (and the largest based in Europe). Shell was first in the 2013 Fortune Global 500 list of the world's largest companies; in that year its revenues were equivalent to 84% of the Netherlands' $556 billion GDP.

Unilever is a Dutch-British transnational consumer goods company co-headquartered in Rotterdam, Netherlands and London, United Kingdom. Its products include food, beverages, cleaning agents and personal care products. It is the world's largest consumer goods company measured by 2012 revenue,. Unilever is the world's largest producer of food spreads, such as margarine. Unilever is one of the oldest multinational companies, its products are available in around 190 countries.

Lol, I nearly spat my yogurt out when I saw that. Nice one.
Anyway there's 40 million decedents of the British in the US. Your allies will be crushed.
