There's No Way The F-35 Will Ever Match The Eurofighter In Aerial Combat

Sure, it might have the edge on paper, but bare in mind in dog fights the pilots training is crucial. The tactics being used by the superior pilot will win. That being said the ultimate goal of the f35 is to destroy the opponents plane without being detected. A nation will not consider purchasing the f35 because of its dog fighting ability, but its ability to destroy the enemy without ever needing to engage in dogfights.

Absolutely it is glorious.

Indeed.......:P

The F-117 flew over 800 sorties. One lost. If 'stealth' was so vulnerable to 'SAMs of era 60' that it was 'just down', then why only one lost? If whatever made the F-117 so vulnerable, then it should make ALL the other 'non-stealth' fighters even more vulnerable. Logical, no? Then why only one F-16 was lost?

What I asked about effectiveness...............i.e. how many targets(SAMs) were destroyed by them in 800 sorties in Serbia. Everyone know there effectiveness in Iraq;), where most of sorties ended with no result or low output (although they don't have any threat from SAMs).

No doubt about F22 indeed.

And how much damage were done by those falcones, when fighters were in defensive patrolling sorties, how anyone can target them (due to out of reach). NATO did superb in Iraq but in Serbia, it sucks.:azn:

We lost one F-117 and it became big news, and you believe the loss of the larger and more expensive B-2 to be concealable from the American public?

F-117 was shotted down in Serbia and parts of F-117 is in Serbian air force museum and of course Serbia was show that parts and have evidence, but B2(if is shotted down) is shotted down in Crotia or Bosnia(NATO friends) and we don't have evidence.

One. The F-117 flew over 800 sorties. And we lost just one..

never flew f117 again.......... its a pure victory.

Then why are the Russians and the Chinese are building their own versions of 'stealth'? Do you even think through your argument?

I said its over hyped as invincible and all the other Shhit, do u even understand English?

I doubt you have a clue of what those things are. You are just spouting words and phrases you picked up from the Internet.

all those "things" can bring down f22, the best thing is when we talk russian tech to american they start blabbering gibberish.

The F-117 is still flying at Tonopah. There wasn't much of a purpose of the F-117 after the Serbian campaign.

Sure you were...

Who is 'they'?

According to a calculation by a senior EADS radar expert, the Captor-E, which will use 1,426 T/R modules and is scheduled to be integrated onto the Eurofighter Typhoon in 2015, is capable of recognizing the F-35 at around 59 kilometers away.

He acknowledged that the chance is high for the F-35 to detect and fire missiles first against fourth-generation jets, such as the Eurofighter or Boeing’s F-15, but claimed that the latter are capable of dodging missiles and successfully counterattacking at such a long range.

His calculation shows that the F-35’s APG-81, which allegedly has 1,400 T/R modules, will be able to recognize the Eurofighter or semi-stealth fighter at 120 kilometers or farther based on the assumption both radars have the same capability

even with the future radar the ef-2000 can only see the f-35 at half the range that the f-35 can attack it  and the EF-2000's irst dont have LFR which mean it can't provide firing solution for missiles :cheesy: 60 km different in distance will be enough for f-35 to accelerate to top speed before launching missiles 6 aim-120d will sure take the ef-2000 down :smokin: ( in future f-35 can carry cuda and meteor as well )
in wvr both aircraft can't out maneuver dogfight missiles but f-35 have DAS + DIRCM i think it may have an edge (advantages of DAS over normal JHMCS is that it allow firing at enemy even when sight blocked by the airframe and also allow dogfight at night time  )

btw the low sustain g number of f-35 mean nothing unless you put it in specific situation
Example f-16 is very agile but in some situation
At near the speed of sound and at an altitude of 25,000 feet, the HiMAT vehicle could substain an 8-G turn (that is, one producing acceleration equal to 8 times that of gravity). By comparison, at the same altitude, an F-16's maximum sustained turning capability is about 4.5 Gs
