If there was extreme intolerance in India he would not be where he is now. Also he should have thought about tolerance when he tried to beat up that security guy at Wankhede for simply trying to do his job. SRK has always come across as a "holier than thou" hypocrite to me. First I noticed it during the IPL controversy involving Pakistani players. When the Pakistani players were not picked he made a big deal of it in the media and then someone asked him-- you are an owner, why didn't you pick them?-- his answer was that his team had different requirements.

Its clear that on both counts, it would seem that intolerance in India is waaaay below world average. For religious intolerance, only last week 40 shias were killed in tiny Pakistan next door (against one or two lynchings in India this year), and against three murders of intellectuals in the last two years in India, tiny Bangladesh next door has hacked to death some 4-5 intellectuals this year itself...

It's all about perception. If a single unfortunate and isolated incident against Muslims take place in India while NDA is in power. Then all the "so called Intellects" , Media and Leftist politicians see it as a threat to the very foundation of India. If the same happens during Congress rule no body really cares about it. I'm in noway defending all the wide variety of religious extremist ( both Hindu and Muslims) but just showing the hypocrisy of many and unethical journalism of our media which is really giving India a bad image abroad.

I am from Bombay. Family has been here since at least 5 generations. And I do have friends who are Marathis. Despite all its shenanigans, the Sena has never managed to win the election in Maharashtra alone. But there is a little anger against non-Marathis in Bombay by the ethnic Maharashtrians. It manifests itself in many different ways.

Some are vocal about it. Some are not. The Sena was itself groomed and made into a force by Indira Gandhi to prevent the leftist tilt of the mill workers because of their leader Dutta Samant.
