Now it is 8x that of China's on average and only 2x that of the major cities - not really worth leaving behind your old life. So now you only get the most lowly educated people going to Singapore, and even then, they won't just take being shitted on - look at the bus driver protest.

The difference between you and me is that you grew up with an inferiority complex and I didn't. I pointed out some of his faults, didn't say that he was totally terrible, and just said it was my personal preference to not live in such a country, and you come out like I'm insulting your parents lol. Definitely Kuan Yew is not 100% bad but he is increasingly toxic over the years. His policy is contradicting. He want talent and yet he want to exploit labor. There is no way he can get talent by pushing wages down and instituting a slave labor environment. But the other kind of talent especially rich capitalist embrace him.

By flooding us with foreigners, he has make a large portion of our population miserable. The noxious effect are yet to be felt.

A bus driver cannot be paid more than 2k . of you do you become uncompetitive. The man himself said he made mistakes but the general direction is right.
