The World Bank updated its GDP list

Pakistan isn't doing that bad either, i'm actually surprised. Hope it grows more :pakistan::pakistan:

.
India moved from 4th to 3rd in terms of PPP GDP, and NOT nominal GDP. So stop celebrating like idiots. No country can do that in just 4 years :argh:

.
there is no ranking of nominal value in 2011?

Gross domestic product 2011, PPP

Ranking Economy (millions of international dollars)

3 India 4,533,919
26 Pakistan 488,420

Glad to see India and Pakistan both moving up. India has the population advantage and obviously a much bigger market. Pakistan's market is under utilized by three quarters (200 million people with such a small utilization of consumer related products and services).
If the security situation gets better and foreign investments come in, with the talented labor force and middle class growth, it can make it to the top 20 by 2020. Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley and other economic and investment houses have put Pakistan in their BRIC + 11 quadrant / strategy. Meaning BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) + 11 other countries will form the top 15 economies by 2025.
Time for Pakistan to root out the terrorism crap from its society and focus on economy and growth of its citizens. JUST the improvement in security situation alone will push the economy to a noticeable difference within three years. 200 million people deserve a better Pakistan, a better lifestyle and a much more educated, modern and tolerant next generation!

first you have to understand the concepts of GDP in PPP and GDP in nominal```

PPP is useless when comparing its GDP with other countries, because international purchasing is done with dollars..

but PPP is useful when measuring domestic purchasing, for example the Big Mac costs much less in Indian than the U.S

for developing countries PPP tend to be significently bigger than GDP nominal, otherwise for most developed countries

The Big Mac in India may cost less than in the US but the Big Mac in the US is much more bigger, tasty and with supplements compared to that of India. So in overall its the same price. Big Mac is not a good example here.

what would happen if india didn't buy weapons from russia last year?
would it be:India 1.858 Trillion, Russia 1.848 Trillion?

Main reason is rupee downfall shrinking our economy.

I am waiting for that day when India will overtake the one time great colonial power - Great Britain.

So there's a paper published on this? A professional food critic who tasted both the US BigMac and the Indian one, and noted down the points each BigMac scored? :disagree:

BTW, your above post also shows that you have no idea what's BigMac comparison.
