You know, the more you post this kind of news, the more people doubt US power.

There are three levels of belief. Based on faith, fact, expectation.

In the past, belief in US power was based on faith. There is no need to prove it, and anyone who disagrees will be branded a heretic. They violated people's faith. They must be crazy.

Later, people believed that US power was based on facts. But facts can be questioned and facts need to be proved. Like you're trying to do right now. If you try to prove the greatness of US power with facts, US power will be degraded from god to human. People will no longer be in awe of the US. People will be tempted to move.

But what you're actually doing is expecting great US power.

I’m a US defense enthusiast reporting on US Naval modernization and progress.

It seems you can’t handle US Naval power and modernization.

Actually if you check their list of ships, you'll be amazed. It's massive. And imagine they have 22 Ticonderogas too...

The tico all actually has Intention to be retired but due to slow modernisation and lack of funds, they are forced to be delay and continue service. Clearly show, these tico condition are no good and system outdated.

The pace of naval asset acquisition of the US Navy needs to be accelerated to counter the pace of Russian & Chinese Navies.

Quality always trumps quantity. No, for the US to match one-to-one with China regarding a number of ships. As for Russia's navy, it seems it has ceded that capability to the Chinese, and adopted to burnish its army and air force.

The Chinese navy is unproven in warfare compared to the US, especially in carrier and submarine operations.

The Burke class is the most successful(and probably the most money spent) destroyer program in modern naval history. It is the backbone of the US Navy and will remain so for a long time.

The problem is that almost all of the world's navies are developing platforms with lower operating costs for activities such as logistics/fleet movements and escorts, port visits and diplomatic activities, creation of underwater and surface tactical picture in high-risk/without conflict conditions; while the US Navy has lost a lot of time with its LCS corvette programs. OHP frigates perhaps no one remembers, but they filled a very important gap for the US Navy in past. But now, with the introduction of new generation frigates, the task load of Burke class destroyers will decrease, which is a strategy that will increase the effectiveness of the US navy in total.

USS Daniel Inouye (DDG 118) was built by Bath Iron Works.

More than 1,000 guests including servicemembers, veterans, and their families witnessed as the Navy’s 69th Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer joined the fleet.

The ship honors the local hero and statesman, Sen. Daniel K. Inouye. Sen. Inouye was a U.S. senator from Hawaii who served in congress from 1962 until his death in 2012. During World War II, Inouye served in the U.S. Army’s 442nd Regimental Combat Team, one of the most decorated military units in U.S. history. For his combat heroism, which cost him his right arm, Inouye was awarded the Medal of Honor.

During the ceremony, Ken Inouye, Daniel Inouye’s son, thanked the crew and the commissioning committee for honoring his father.

“I hope that in the spirit of aloha and the spirit of ohana you all consider yourselves a part of our ohana,” said Inouye.

The commissioning ceremony coincided with 80th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Remembrance commemoration events and caps a weeklong series of events celebrating the ship and its namesake. On December 7, 1941, Inouye was a 17-year-old senior at Honolulu’s McKinley High School, and rushed to a Red Cross aid station to help civilians and Sailors wounded in the attack.

USS Daniel Inouye, the first U.S. warship to bear its name, is nearly 510 feet in length and has a navigational draft of 33 feet. Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers are the backbone of the U.S. Navy’s surface fleet and critical to the future Navy. They are highly capable, multi-mission ships, and can conduct a variety of operations, from peacetime presence and crisis management, to sea control and power projection – all in support of the United States military strategy.

Pakistan should also go for Destroyers plus develop missiles like Tomahawk BLOCK V with 2400 KM range which could hit fast moving ships and targets on land with same accuracy. As for USA. Soon USA and China will be going for ship vs ship. Destroyer vs Destroyer. Frigate vs Frigate.

First in class Constellation frigate has begun production. Their essentially light destroyers at 7200 tons.

It's not always the case. The Soviet and US triumph Nazi army by quantity and not quality.

Unproven is BS. Well trained and realistic training are the key. What major warfare US sub and aircraft carrier face since world war 2.

The Iraq are battle harder after 8 years of Iraq/Iran war from 1980/1988 but didn't help in their gulf war 1 in 1991. Experience are redundant if always fight the wrong and low intensity war. Unproven is always just an excuse to try discredit PLA armed forces. We are well funded and equipped. Realistic and many major exercise carry out. Soldiers morale are all time high.

It will be fool to discredit PLA armed forces just base on not fighting any war.

Please don't lump the Soviets with the US. The Soviet Union's philosophy in fighting wars is to use overwhelming manpower and firepower. The Soviets had no problem sending a battalion to clear a minefield. In addition, the allies had a qualitative edge in weapons late in the war compared to Germany.

Yes, training is important but it's no substitute for experience, which the US Navy has had since World War II and the Cold War, especially in carrier and submarine operations. China's Navy, on the other hand, is quite green in these areas.

When has China fought a major war? Please let me know when you do, then we can compare notes.

Yes, it would be foolish to discredit the PLA, but nor should they be overestimated.
