Make no mistake, this is Huludao's Bohai shipyard, every Chinese military amateur can recognize this place.

China 5th 094 SSBN building in HuLuDao. It's really a good news, looks like a real pump-jet engine. China Navy show muscle to America.

where in the above pics showed it has a pump jet feature?

Is pump jet more silent than traditional propeller?

Yara, still can't make whee is the pump jet. Not much of a naval enthusiast! :D

There are subs coming into the market with AIP (Air Independent Propulsion) as well as with Pumpjets. The next step would be the vectored pumpjets which will drastically improve Sub's maneuverability which means better torpedo evasion capabilities = increased survivability.

@Chinese-Dragon - Does China have or building a non metallic hull sub?

Lala, isn't AIP for the classic diesel engines, whereas Pump-jet is a completely new form of propulsion technology (minus the propeller, as in other diesel/nuclear subs) I read a paper on it long long time back. Maybe I'm confusing many things together.
