The Turkish Armed Forces initiated a $160 billion modernization program. $45 billion is earmarked to go to the overhaul of the Turkish Air Force

The F-35 Dilemma

Turkey is a global partner of F35 program and Turkish Airforce plans to buy 30 F-35A until 2023 , 100 F-35A until 2030 to replace 47 F-4 2020 Terminators and 35 F-16C Block30s

The F-35 dispute between Ankara and Washington escalated when President TRUMP signed the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The bill explicitly calls for the cancellation of the delivery of F-35s to the Turkish Air Force

Russia and Turkey are holding talks about the possible sale of Russian made SU-35 and SU-57 Fighter Jets to the Turkish Air Force , if F-35 not delivered




The Ambitious TF-X Programme

Another milestone in the Turkish Air Force’s future capabilities after 2030 is the TF-X, the National Stealth Combat Aircraft. It is Turkey’s most ambitious defence programme

it is expected that $8.6 billion will be spent on the first flight of a first prototype
