The Truth-Riot in Tibet

Gee... if the Tibetans are so evil, why is it that the CCP is so chicken about allowing media freedom and access?

If Indian think that Tibet, Xinjiang and Taiwan are not parts of China!

Please don't hesitate to admit Tibetan Government in-Exile, East Turkistan terrorist groups and Republic of China! :hitwall::hitwall:

PRC don't care, but one and only one consequence is automatical termination of diplomatic relationships between People's Republic of China and Republic of India. :bounce::cheers::enjoy::taz:

Tibet belongs to China and indians should not interfere with China's internal affairs.
Conspiring riots in Tibet may not go down well with China, specially at olympics! It is clear now that why anti-china elements are highlighting such issuess only around olymics. :agree:

The Tibetan, Xinjiang and the Mongolian issues requires one to understand the Han culture.

Tibet, Xinjaing, The Min Basin and the Mongolian or Manchurian cannot be assimilated in China because of the Han culture.

An Ethnohistorical Dictionary of China - Google Book Search

The problem will continue.

Han culturism differentiates between the culture of the Han, the inner people (nei ren) and the barbarians, the outer people (wai ren). This concept is a hand me down from the time of the Shang Dynasty, who political centre was located North of the Yellow River.

The Chinese differentiate between raw barbarians (shengfan) or the unassimilated people and the “cooked barbarians” (shufan) or those who were assimilated and yet were not the Han people e.g. the Han Chinese separated the ‘cooked’ Li of the coast of Hainan from the ‘uncooked’ Li of the central forest.

Barbarians were given generic names in the Chinese classics and histories: the Yi barbarians to the East, the Man to the South, Rong to the West and Di to the North.

Until the 1930s, the names of the outgroups (wai ren) were commonly written in characters with the animal radical: the Di, a northern tribe were linked to the dog; the Man and Min of the South were characterised with reptiles; the Qiangs were written with a sheep radical. This reflected the Han Chinese conviction that civilisation and culture were linked with humanity; alien groups living outside the pale of Han society were regarded as inhuman savages.

The custom of sharply distinguishing between the inner and outer people went along with the calling China the Middle Kingdom (zhong guo) , which began by ruling the Central plain (zhongyang) in North China. Rather than using outright military conquest, the theory of ‘using the Chinese ways to transform the barbarians (yongxiabianyi)’ was promulgated. By cultural absorption or racial integration through intermarriage, a barbarian could become a Han Chinese (Hanhua).

Man these riots are all engineered.

I just can't imagine so many people agreeing to run amok on streets and beating up people and destroying property and not to forget shouting like apes.

Asim,

Have you seen the Han arrogance of being a superior race?

Just visit Singapore! ;)

The apes are the non Hans.

It is very subtle, though palpable!

Somebody never fails entertaining us with his/her crippled hearsay!

Confucius said (in 《春秋》):“夷狄入中国,则中国之,中国入夷狄,则夷狄之”. meaning if a barbarian enters China, he is sinicized. If a Chinese entering a barbarian region, he can be barbarized. Weather one was civilized or barbaric is not at all purely related with blood, but rather a more advanced civilization compared with then its less advanced surroundings, as supported by numerous anthropological evidences. Here, a more civilized person can also barbarize himself if he choose to do so. This is a two way process.

Many "barbarians" were actually good emperors in ancient China.

For instance, Meng Zi (孟子, deemed as the second-greatest Confucian philosopher) said:“舜生于诸冯,迁于负夏,卒于鸣条,东夷人也,文王生于歧周,卒于郢,西夷人也。” 舜 and 文王 are regarded as "saint" emperors in all Chinese history, and they were regarded Yi (夷) by Meng Zi! There are too many such instances.

Simply put, "He who has the merits reigns the land.", "educations should cover everyone regardless of his class or breed.", and "under the haven is the land of King." Those are important ancient Chinese teachings/mottoes that last to day.

That's perhaps why when Han rulers became corrupted and relentless, Chinese tolerate "barbarian" rules, meanwhile the Chinese never stopped influencing the "barbarian" ruler with the Chinese civilization. This has been pointed out by my another post regarding Mongol Yuan dynasty that officially declared that Yuan was a continuation of Chinese dynasty even the emperor was "barbarian". Ancient Chinese never worried about the territory because if the emperor had the merits, the land is the King's.

In short, Chinese civilization is more of a culture than by blood or race. And the ancient Chinese correctly distinguished who were more civilized and who were less, rightly described the behaviors of th rulers and subjects, and the two way process as well.

No surprise there are arrogant Hans, just as there are arrogant Indians.

Superior, if any, is the culture, not purely the race.

For instance, I talked with number of Indian Bahrami friends with "teaching regardless of class/breed" in my mind, I found surprised at, and still don't get it today, the Bahramis' view that Dalis are hopeless to be educated and deserved to be left over! :taz:
