Europeans reached the climax of prosperity and civilisation, they couldnt care less about what other think.

This is the tragedy. People with brains stop thinking. And they precisely did that.

Economic/Financial models/policies adapt. Economic model during the slave trade was based on something else. Economic model during colonialism was based on something else. Economic model during capitalism is based on something else.

These economic/financial models (used by the west) serve two purposes - To enslave other nations. More importantly, to encourage innovation and efficiency within the hegemonic mainland.

In all the times, Europeans have had superior technology.


Economies can be pumped up with the printed $$$. Just like Malaysia, Singapore and so on. Those countries have very little scientific contributions. But they still have very high living standards. How so? Where and why did they money come from? On the contrary, Europe became hegemonic due to their superior technology/scientific contributions. They have faced adversity. They were the explorers. They sacrificed. They invented. That is how they became hegemonic and their living standards increased. So there must be something wrong here...

As long as Europe/west has superior technology - The pumped up drama queen countries will just brag about their power & lust. They have the right to do so. After all, the printed $$$ destroy trees/computers and find new destinations.

A plurality of Americans themselves also believe China is the leading economic power. It just that the populations most exposed to the "China threat" propaganda also believe, as a side effect, that China has achieved economic primacy. Note that less than half of Chinese believe that China is the leading economic power compared to the USA.

Wait a minute. About 99% of the Chinese members on here think China has passed the US in GDP (certainly an economic power indicator). To me for China to surpass the US in GDP doesn't seem illogical/impossible. However do you really think they believe that due to some "China threat" propaganda?????

Who are those people? How come I never see them around? Earlier this year, the World Bank released figures showing that China's GDP, adjusted for purchasing power, was set to surpass the US' this year. But I think most Chinese agree that it's nominal GDP which matters.

Anyway, it's telling that its mostly advanced Western economies which believe China has the leading economy. These are coincidentally also the countries most exposed to the "China threat" narrative. I'm inclined to think there's a link.
