EU is a power of its own measure only because of three countries. Germany mainly, then France and then UK. Nothing else comes even close.
In fact, EU is basically Germany's raw industrial and manufacturing power that is spread around a very diverse supply chain of businesses and entities in other european countries.
Even France with all its development and technological power is singularly more powerful.
These countries are a source of inspiration to all other countries. To rise and develop ones' base.
Japan and Germany still remain so powerful.
Too bad Germany is unable to break free from its WW2 era shackles. It has the potential to be another power pole in this emerging multi-polar world.
USA, Germany, Japan, China, Russia, Brazil, India, South Africa, Turkey, Korea and Indonesia are some of the most promising nations in the emerging world. I would even include Vietnam in the fray considering they are rapidly emerging out of their economic weakness.
Europeans reached the climax of prosperity and civilisation, they couldnt care less about what other think.
Do you consider Turkey as a part of that prosperity or do you identify your country as a separate emerging power pole?
Personally, I think you are an emerging power pole from the Eurasian region.
