You doesn't know much.
Quite possibly I don't know much. BTW, this speed translates to Mach 3.5, which you should not be surprised about. A little googling can help with this.

HQ-2 could reach the speed of 1,150 meters per second so speed was/is not an issue. It was not engaged because either it was not detected, or not flying in a sensitive zone such as nuclear facilities, or air-bases, where these SAMs are most likely deployed.

Lol .
Please read that article again. It was a reconniassance plane .The main purpose of such aircrafts are to collect required important datas of sensitive installation.Speed is an advantage there is no question about that especially at this level of altitude (75000 ft) .That is why US deployed SR 71 when they hands got burned due to U 2.
Americans was meant for a stealth SR 71 but got only partial success .They compensated that demerits by increasing its speed. And it was 100% succcess.Even Soviets best SAM systems couldnt shot sown that Aircraft.

I am not sure if I am talking to a person who wishes to engage in discussion or a fan boy who neither knows nothing, nor wants to know anything for it works against his perception of being invincible.

You realize that we are talking a decade old incident ?Also HQ 2 = SA 2 ,inferior to soviet systems in the 80s.

Except for a very few such as @nair Indians seems not to be capable of getting into serious discussion. Jingoism is a huge problem with you folks. Waste of time getting engaged with you. @Oscar @Aeronaut @fatman17 I wonder if know more about HQ-2 in Pakistan service and want to share something with our MIGHTY and INVINCIBLE Indian friends.

HQ-1 = SA-2; HQ-2 is in a different league.

that missile have an celling of 25,000.... mig is flying at 23,000... it is very difficult to intercept mig 25 with that missile.

In May (1997), an Indian Air Force (IAF) Mikoyan MiG-25RB Foxbat-B Reconnaissance aircraft created a furore when the pilot flew faster than Mach 2 over Pakistani territory following a reconnaissance mission into Pakistan airspace. The Foxbat broke the sound barrier while flying at an altitude of around 65,000 feet, otherwise the mission would have remained cover, at least to the general public. The Pakistani Government considered the breaking of sound barrier as deliberate to make the point that Pakistani Airforce (PAF) has no aircraft in its inventory which can come close to the cruising height of MiG-25 ( up to 74,000 feet ).

ARTISTIC IMPRESSION OF IAF MIG-25 OVER ISLAMABAD,PAKISTAN 1997

The Ruler of Stratosphere: A story of FOXBAT pilot

This is one of the rare pic of any MiG-25 Foxbat pilot. He belongs to the IAF No.102 ''The Trisonic'' squadron. Generally Foxbat pilots' identity kept secret because of the top secret mission they flew overenemy lines, which makes them kind of the ''007 Agent of Air Force''.The No.102 Trisonic squadron is one of the first squadron to fly MiG-25other than Russia. It flew several photographic mission over China andPakistan in late 80s. To be a Foxbat pilot kind of requires excellent flight record and most no of sorties with highest experience in your group. Only with a rank of Wing Commander officers were allowed for MiG-25 Pilot training. Not all the pilots get to fly the Foxbat beast.Only the best of the best with maximum experience are choose for this. Ofcourse it's necessary, because most Foxbat mission requires flying at75000ft and taking photographs at that altitude without being completely knocked-out due to GLOC is not a nutcase opening job.Although now this ''Beast of stratosphere'' is retired and sitting at Palam museum, till now only 42pilots
of IAF are officially certified to fly aFoxbat-B. MiG-25 Garuda is one of the top secret plane IAF has ever had. It's jealously guarded and the pilots were never allowed to talk about theirmission or machine in the public...even now. It's reported that the Trishul air base has Foxbats capable of flying over 85000ft.
''Although those machines have been retired, because they became obsolete due to intensive use of satellites and drones...still I miss those mean machines. Those are darned good days.''---

First of all that incident was happened in 1997 .IAF used MIG 25 because they dont have satellites or drones during that time .
And Pak couldnt stop it why?.I am not sure about your HQ2 capability to shoot down such an aircraft and at these altitude
SR71 top speed was mach 3.2 .Soviets Radar system was enough sophisticated to track that aircraft but couldnt shoot down .They tried to shoot down it several times but SR 71 just increased its speed and outrun the missiles.

. . .
the mig could have not been shot down ! after this incident Islamabad beefed up it air-defence

Look at my DP, its one of TriSonic MIG-25's used by IAF n RAW

What's the big deal, PAF done it 50 years earlier, causing panic amongst Indians.

well my bad, good thing atleast you are proud of Individual scores..... and you ignores end ...

It also caused one of the major tragedies in India when one crashed into a built up area......causing some two dozen deaths.
and your point??? what kinda crap you come up with???? such a non sense... you are making fun of dead??? grow up...

.
Soviet full face helmets....8-)
Soviet full face helmets were also used by our MIG-21 FL pilots in 60s & 70s.

The end of 1965 war was indeed a glorious chapter for PAF and otherwise.

It was an appropriate answer to your ridiculous claim of so called ''untouchable''......i called it a tragedy, how does that count as making fun......go first learn some English before indulging into point scoring. !!
