According to the last guy is different because they are allies and "liberal democracies" and the US will never ever spy on its allies.

This is not about spying or controlling the internet because hackers much less state hackers dont discriminate between brands a good hacker can hack every single equipment because all them more or less use the same algorithms. This is because they can't compete.
Why is so difficult to say the truth for this people that some people in Washington will never tolerate the a Asian country and much less China to dominate in any field of technology but instead up their game, become more competitive and deliver better tech at lower cost the bully companies into submission like they did to Japan in the 80s and 90s.

The simple truth is US never had expected that China would have sprinted across the field of technology so quickly, to the point where it had surpassed them. That would explain the belligerent containment that it's enforcing upon its allies to deny Huawei access to. A further decisive indicator of a descending super power, with its insecurity.

U.S. gets called out for doing the whole spying, installing and abusing of backdoors via U.S. manufacturers .
U.S. throws meaningless buzzwords like "checks and balances", "allies" and "democracy" into the room as if they have any value or justify anything.
U.S.: And therefore it's different when we do it! Apples and oranges!
