The role of a Company Havildar Major

I am writing a book named Badal and I need information about the Pakistan army as I have not experienced the army firsthand. It is best that a military source answer this question.

Particularly I am looking for information about the role of a Company Havildar Major. My questions are:

1) What does a Company Havildar Major do? Whats his role in:
a) A unit (battalion)
b) A company
c) A platoon

2) Can a company havildar major act as a real major in any circumstance... in other words does he ever command a company? If not there must be a possibility that he can command a platoon or at least a section right?

3) Can a Havildar be promoted directly to a Company Havildar Major (2 ranks) even though there is a post Company Quartermaster Havildar in between.

Answers to these questions would greatly help me accomplish my book.
