The Rise of the Bollywood Movie Industry

.
Of all the Bolly movies I watched recently (not so recent) I liked 'A Wednesday' the most. Just Awesome !!!!

Actually this is welcome change is just not confined to Bollywood - - even we are seeing this change in Kollywood (Tamil Movie industry :D).

Previoulsy it used to be marquee stars with 'in-the-market-heroines' ,. 4 fights, 5 song sequence with the last one being the Traditional Kuthu.

Nowadays the onus is on new faces, tight good action oriented or romantic script, less budget , racy screenplay etc. and the surprise is they are doing actually well than the Big Star movies (the exception for this is Super Star who is still the King down South).

Bollywood is faaaar behind in story telling. What I mean is that there is very low emphasis on a compelling story and then honestly telling it. There is too much emphasis on gimmicks and throwing in stuff to satisfy everyone.

Its more akin to nautanki, than art. But its also uniquely Indian :)

You're misunderstanding. The man may or may not be married. That's besides the point. The problem is that a young woman shouldn't have to sleep with a potential employer in order to secure a job.

let us say, it is test of commitment, how far someone willing to go. I will give the job to the most committed person :)

jk.. i was just pulling leg

i guess i already said she went for a ad film not a **** movie or something which would require her talents at explicitly satisfying men for their greeds for women body....

You have to be realistic, many men who are present within the media industry are sexual opportunists and one of the reasons is that they know of what they can get in return of giving a girl a chance to be successful.

I am sure that the occurrence of such incidents make more men, than required, act this way.

The fault lies with men but its a difficult issue to deal with as some women will have no qualms with sleeping with others for career opportunities.

Agreed. I think it would be acceptable to more people to not involve morals here and just call such behaviour unprofessional.
