Here we have two sample people. One of them is Pakistani, and the other is Indian. Interestingly, both of them have the same last name: Khan. The former is a teenager whilst the latter is in his mid-50s. The top speaks the languages of Pakhto and Urdu. The bottom speaks the languages of Hindi and English. Both are dressed very distinctly. The first is wearing a dark blue colored traditional Pakhtun qameez. The second is wearing a yellow colored garment with a bright orange large turban. Features wise, the upper has pale skin, light blue eyes, and thick dark brown facial hair. The lower has light brown skin, dark brown eyes, and little-to-no facial hair. The primary photograph features a rather subtle lighting and setting. The secondary photograph on the other hand, features an aggressive artificial lighting and setting. #A shows the individual cooking a large pot of tea. Contactstly, #B shows the individual looking at a certain un-orthodox direction whilst doing nothing. Codename Alpha has some words written in the Perso-Arabic in the background. But, Codename Beta has nothing spectacular in the background but some simple brown shades.

From this analysis, we can conclude that the Pakistani people are distinct to the Indians.

Even dark-skinned Pakistanis have distinct features from Indians. Race is not based solely on skin color, but on skull shape, facial features, height/weight, etc.

Pakistanis tend to have long sharp noses, thinner faces, larger well-defined beards, browner/curlier hair, taller, and more muscular. Typical of Irani races.

I agree, we Irani people are too much similar to Pakistanis. At times, I cannot tell the difference between us. Even our names are so much similar. Pakistanis are culturally, linguistically, and historically an Iranic race.

Yeah, my dad is pretty dark (same colour as Shahid Abbasi) but he doesn't really look Hindustani in my opinion.

wa alaikum assalam. Pakistanis are very widely distributed as far as skin color.

Shahrukh Khan has always looked like an Indian, regardless of his supposed lineage from Peshawar. He looks nothing like a typical Peshawari or Pukhtoon. Even tan or darker Pukhtoons have a very different look.

On a cursory glance, I can't tell the ethnicity of these Swati Pukhtoons. They can pass for Punjabis, Kashmiris, Sindhis, Baloch, or any of the Pakistani ethnic groups (besides Muhajir.)

I want to add that even Pakistani Muhajirs (which supposedly have direct lineage from India), look really different from Indians.

You must be really light then because I would not call Shahid Abbasi dark but medium toned. His unkempt beard is another issue. :sarcastic:

Shahid Khaqan Abassi looks like the typical Arab. He doesn’t look Indian at all!!

MBS looks like a typical Punjabi from Central Punjab.

Yes, Muhajirs vary widely.

However this POS has always looked like an Indian, even when he was in Pakistan.

Not really lol, I'm the same colour as Shah Rukh Khan.

I think he looks dark in most of his photos, but some of them definitely seem to try and lighten his complexion.

I personally think his beard suits him. Without it he'd probably look like a queer.

Lmao that photo is definitely using lighting to make him look lighter, here's what his complexion really looks like:

I don't think he looks Arab (he could pass as one if he wore a a Keffiyah though, you do get dark Arabs). He just looks Pakistani in my opinion.

I think it varies depending on the Pakistani. Some are more similar to other members of the Indus in north-west Hindustan (e.g Hindustani Kashmir, the Punjab, Gujarat) where as others look more like people from Afghanistan and Iran.

Eurasian ancestry is pretty common among Pakistanis, which was brought to the region via Iranic people.

In terms of culture, we are mostly influenced by Iranic/Indo-Aryan culture, with some of us having more Indo-Aryan influence (e.g Sindhis), and others more Iranic influence (e.g Baluchis).

The names given in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran are pretty similar.

If you want to confirm if someone is Pukhtoon or not is to ask of his tribes name, fake pukhtoons don't have tribes name.

We need to distinguish between actual Pashtuns, and people who claim Pashtun ancestry. The easiest way to do so is only use the term Pathan to refer to people who claim Pashtun ancestry, rather than Pashtuns themselves.

. .
There are a few Indians in my company with the last name Khan/afghan/pathan, but none of them know their tribe's name.

I don't really care so long as they recognise that it doesn't make them better than anyone else, and that they don't consider themselves Pashtuns.

Unfortunately, a lot of them don't meet this criteria. They think being descended from Pashtuns makes them superior to everyone else because of how many Ghazi's were Pashtun, and they seem to think that having a few Pashtun ancestors makes them Pashtun even though they don't follow Pashtun culture.

I mean, some of my family from over a hundred years ago were from Baluchistan, but I don't go around screaming "OH YEAH GUYS I'M A BALUCHI MIR CHAKAR RIND ZINDABAD!" because that would make me look like an idiot.
