The real economic challenge - 94% of Pakistani's unware of GDP

Indeed, this has been a byproduct of the political evolution in the region at large, most of the formerly colonized world has seen personality driven politics rather than ideologically driven one. It's not just the case in Pakistan and I think it's one of the parameters of measuring success of a nation as it moves away from political dynasties. If we look at our neighbour then we can see one fatal flaw, the congress was a political dynasty and that overwhelmed whatever ideology they had over time. That made their opposition become more right wing, which eventually gives rise to a qausi fascist elements gaining power. Arguably the same happened in the US where considerable thought seems to be that had Trump faced anyone but Clinton the situation would have panned out differently.
