The horror and tragedy of the war in Syria has been captured in a single photograph of a wounded child.

A young boy, aged five, sits on a chair inside an ambulance after an airstrike in his hometown of Aleppo, the whereabouts of his parents unknown.

Covered in dust from the rubble which was once his home, one side of Omran Daqneesh's face is drenched in blood, his expression dazed.

West is still not learning!!!!! Then they complain about terrorism & extremism in Europe!!!!! These propaganda images shows the hypocrisy of the west and also that west can ruin the whole world to achieve their strategic goals!!!!! When these extremists targets western soldiers, its terrorism and should be rooted out at all human cost (obviously not western). When these hairy scumbags attacking a non western legitimate state, its civilians and targeting its national army, then these are freedom fighters!!!!! What an Irony!!!!!!

the world don't care because they are muslims. if it had been some other country than un would have interfered with blue helmets.

Actually the West cares a lot about these people, this is why they put 24/7 anti Syrian government propaganda on their media, and arm child beheading mercenaries in Aleppo and all over Syria to destroy the Syrian government and put Salafi's in power who would then invade Lebanon to advance Israeli interests. Who are these people joking? They're sympathizing and shedding tears over Aleppo, which is government territory, but taken over by NATO mercenaries, yet when Israel was bombing UN schools and killing children left and right in Gaza, they brought Netanyahu on CNN to justify those attacks and blame the besieged Palestinians.

These CNN scum are no more than hired actors, who advance Jewish interests. It's in Jewish interest to keep ISIS strong and surviving, and to attack the Syrian government, to keep Syria destroyed and in conflict for years to come. It's the Salafi's that don't care about Muslim lives, as they incite violence against Shia's, use paid mercenaries to destroy countries like Syria and destroy their enemies in coordination with US and Europe. Now they want to destroy Hamas in Gaza, and Algerian government. These sick Salafi's and Israeli's have one and same interests. Indians don't understand and are brainwashed.

It won't end unless the Israeli and Saudi regimes are toppled. Afterwards no matter what, there will be no more 'revolution' which these regimes can spark and incite.

.
Is this what western countries wanted? is this the freedom they wanted to give to Syrians?

.
Nobody cares... why should others when.... neither do the rest of the muslims.

We have to fix our own house... breed out the divisions that are tearing is apart from within.

We as muslims will be held accountable for that child's agony. And every other child. What is going to be your excuse? What is going to be mine?

*tear*

violence of any type any where leads to grief. probably mankind as reached the limits of society & higher groupings that it has started consuming the very ppl it supposed to protect. Its high time humans started reviewing the self imposed societal structure.

Didn't take long for this to be twisted into antisemitic propaganda, did it? Arab kills Arab, with open Iranian sponsorship, but somehow Jews are to blame and be destroyed, not the perpetrators and certainly not their sponsors.

How do you sleep at night, Falcon29?

'I filmed the Syrian boy pulled from the rubble - his wasn't a rare case'

A still image taken on August 18, 2016 from a video posted on social media said to be shot in Aleppo on August 17, 2016, shows a boy with bloodied face sitting in an ambulance, after an airstrike, Syria. PHOTO: SOCIAL MEDIA

A local journalist who filmed a heartbreaking video circulating worldwide on social media of a dazed Syrian boy covered in blood and dust after an airstrike hit his home in Aleppo, Syria says it is not a rare occurrence.

“I’ve seen so many children rescued out of the rubble, but this child, with his innocence, he had no clue what was going on,” said Mustafa al-Sarout, an Aleppo-based journalist who filmed the video. “He put his hand on his face and saw blood. He didn’t know even what happened to him. I’ve photographed a lot of airstrikes in Aleppo, but there was so much there in his face, the blood and the dust mixed, at that age,” Sarout said.

US calls dazed boy ‘the real face’ of Syria’s war

Mohammad, a surgeon in Aleppo who declined to give his surname, treated the young Omran when he arrived at hospital. He was struck by how stunned the boy was. “He arrived in total shock, total bewilderment at what happened. His body was covered in dust in addition to blood on his face from a wound on his forehead, and the blood mixed with the dust,” the surgeon said.

“He was frightened and shocked. He had been sitting safely in his home, perhaps asleep. And the house was brought down on top of him. When we were treating him, he was not screaming or crying, just in shock,” Mohammad said.

Omran was discharged from hospital after a few hours of being rescued. He had suffered a head injury and bruises in the attack but nothing too serious. His older sister and brother had been brought in the ambulance with him, while his father also emerged in the aftermath of the strike, face covered in blood.

Syrian children use Pokemon Go in bid to be rescued

Sarout said he was surprised that the video had gone viral as the killing of children had become a common feature of the war in Aleppo and the rest of Syria that those who document its brutality, day in, day out, were no longer surprised by what they see. “These are children bombed every day. It’s not an exceptional case,” he said. “This is a daily fact of Russian and Syrian government airstrikes. They take turns bombing civilians in Aleppo before the whole world. This child is representative of millions of children in Syria and its cities,” Sarout said.

Sarout recalled rushing to the scene when news of airstrikes emerged on Wednesday night. “There was immense destruction in the neighbourhood,” he said. “There were so many people wounded, maybe 13 or 14 there. There were people who were walking around in the street when the bombing happened and they ran to hide inside the buildings and then got trapped in the rubble when the buildings collapsed,” he said.

For Mohammad, who treated Omran, the devastation of this latest attack is exacerbated by the knowledge that it will not be the last. We have been living the daily reality of children and innocent civilians being killed for five years. The dumb missiles and barrel bombs do not discriminate, he said.

Heartwarming pictures show children celebrating Eid in war-torn Syria

“Stop the killing. It’s not logical that the regime and Russian air forces can keep killing people and innocent civilians and the world stays silent.” Syria’s children deserve to live in peace, he added.

The five-year-old had been rescued from the rubble of his home in the rebel-held Aleppo neighbourhood of Qaterji after a government airstrike. As the five-year-old was rescued from the rubble, journalists filmed the scene. The pictures were then broadcast around the world on Thursday, highlighting the sufferings of innocent civilians in war-torn Syria.

Cheap and obvious propaganda. Those so called "tears" of the broadcaster were not even there. And she was still "reading" those emotional words, as can be understood from her reading mistakes.

It shows that USA is now too desperate, still trying to take public support behind the government.. Lets hope such attempts will remain failed.

@Solomon2 I am sad to see that you also are a part of this propaganda machine. I had thought you would be more than that.

What u are babbling? Couple days ago Assad bombed busy market in Idlib, that was not even mentioned in any news.

You are a shameless creature who supports regime that slaughtered ur own people by thousands.

the besieged Palestinians.
The "besieged Palestinians" got 90 truckloads a day from Israel (now that number grew to over 200 a day) + truckloads from Egypt. Yet they got attention from all over the world.

Besieged Daraya got only one small convoy in 4 years and no one cares. They are daily barrel bombed for years and again no one cares.

And u dare to cry and complain. Yick.
