You are absolutely correct. Why does Pakistan even HAVE nuclear weapons? Because India was developing them. Only an absolute idiot would not see they are a legitimate and rational response to India.

If the same controls they want on Pakistan were applied to other countries, Pakistan would never have an issue. It is the racist agenda, that we have a problem with.

Now if Indian society was peaceful, and wanted peace with Pakistan that would be another thing. Which country is the one that is obsessed wit peace talks? Pakistan. Which country is obsessed with war mongering? India. As long as India openly tells us they want war, we will never abandon moving our military forward.

Forget America. There are plenty of Muslim countries that will insist we keep our Military moving forward.

1. Convince india to curtail conventional capabilities against Pakistan to 1:1.
2. Resolve main issues , such as Kashmir, Terrorism and water.

Compare the deployment of Indian Military Assets against Pakistan compared to China. You will have your answer of who India considers an enemy. You cannot possible expect Pakistan to take India for their word, one has to see the deployment and posturing of the Indian Armed Forces.

A massive propaganda campaign days before COAS' arrival in United States. . . Didn't something similar happen prior to PM Nawaz Sharif's visit? I suppose the aim is to build political pressure and defame Pakistan by our friends in East. I suppose I understand their game from diplomatic and foreign policy PoV. But, I reckon that such tactics only help drive the wedge between our relations even further and, galvanise that sense of hatred which leads to an increase in threat perception leading to reduction of so called Nuclear Threshold. Of course, that is not the only thing that increases the risk of looming armageddon but, myriad of unresolved issues with Kashmir being at the centre of 'em all. Thus, I'd suggest that unconditional talks are the ONLY solution versus futile attempts of either side to try and beat the other into submission.

Anyway, on topic, I don't think that any propaganda piece or lobbying will bring any change in Obama administration's policy vis a vis Pakistan which is as clear as day when it calls Afghan Taliban it's key partners. In fact, I see a massive convergence of views and a lot of positive development by the end of 20th November.

So. . . Let's see how things turn out to be. Just my two cents on the matter at hand.

War Mongers? Its better to be safe than sorry. The last time I saw, Pakistanis were busy bragging that they started all the wars with India, and they are aggressive.
We have to be prepared for a war with China like how China is always prepared for a war with Japan & India.
Nepal, SL and Burma are our friends. Pakistanis should raise their conventional capabilities to match India.

I can understand equal credible nuclear deterrents on both sides, but a tit-for-tat approach will never work out given the great differences in size, economy and populations. Similarly, India cannot get into the same approach with China. For the rest of the world, including USA, it is far more manageable to seek out country-by-country policies and dealmaking..

I am taking the perspective from all sides into account without being wedded to any one particular side. I do not think Pakistan's attempts to be treated at par with India will gain any meaningful traction, nor will India's with respect to China. USA will need to deal directly with both one-on-one if there is to be any progress.
