National Power scores are the product of an index combining the weighted factors of GDP, defense spending, population, and technology. Scores are calculated by the International Futures computer model and are expressed as a state’s relative share (percentage) of all global power.

The forecast of these values is hosted by the Google Public Data Explorer. Graphs for any country and some regional groupings can be produced to 2060 for the International Futures Base Case or scenarios produced for the United Nations Environment Programme Global Environmental Outlook 4.

up to 2030 it is fine .. but god knows what will happen after 2050 .. no one can predict that.. one even ct can change course of future ... we are still not able to forecast exact weather after 2 months and doing forecast of power index for world country ...
who knew before 70-80 years that Dubai will be world city and GCC nations will play in billions and trillions of $$$$$.
Even up to 1998-1999 during coalition rule of third front I was hopeless for India .. and suddenly Y2K did trick and people started recognize India as service sector .. as for Pakistan, until 2003-2004 I was under impression that Pakistan will grow like any thing will be leading Muslim country and within 10 years we can see many mega cities and development .. but now story is different ..
Just for fun one can read 10 year old news paper, will get idea no one can predict where we will gonna stand after 10 years..

Up to 2020 looks more or less rational, anything beyond that is just mere predictions.
By the way, what it has to do with TOP 20 militaries? I don't get that.

It's a sum of GDP, population, military size, military power etc.

Notice how more and more Muslim countries are making the list later on:

Thats because of their population. Muslim countries have some of the highest population growth rates in the world.

Currently we are ahead of 3 UNSC permanent members

Nope, It's not. It's what its definition says it is.
Defense budget doesn't mean military prowess. Population, Nominal GDP all relate to military power, but they are radically different than military power by many means.
It's more than obvious that Russia could take on Germany and Japan and defeat them both even in a conventional war with the two countries. It's more than obvious that the Turkish military is way stronger than the Indonesian military and many other points that you could make regarding this list.

This list is quite unbalanced, well, it's one way of seeing things, but no military expert would take this list seriously.

@Arian that's why it's called 'national Power' so this isn't solely based on military strengths alone.

we are even ahead of both of them

Top 8, excluding India, can feed their people, and provide them with a good-to-manageable life.

Maybe. But if I'm not mistaken, the title of your thread says: "TOP 20 militaries".

What are you trying to say ???
we are ahead of them anyway and we deserve to be a unsc permanent member

What I'm trying to say is that you should take care of your children who are dying of starvation by the 100,000s instead of dreaming of becoming UNSC member.
