The most successful military leader in history?

.
Caliph Umer Defeated two of the World Super Power of that period(Byzantine and Persian empires) all by overall Nomadic Army he had so I think his impact was way larger then most other Generals of the World.

Everybody is off the charts.

1. The best generals that ever walked were the Mongol generals of Genghiz Khan. The Khan used to call his generals the "Dogs of War". Armies scattered before them like autumn leaves. Numbers did not matter, distance did not matter, logistics did not matter, fortifications did not matter. Everything was ravaged down by mongols in the age before gun powder.

2. Jalallauddin Muhammed Akbar. The Mughal emperor of India commanded the largest military in the world at his prime. It was the only gunpowder empire after the ottomans and safavids. The Mughal artillery was the best of their day and the Mughal cavalry during Akbar's era was unmatched. They were the best trained, best equipped and best armed soldiers.

3. The anonymous Assyrians who fought wars in the BC era. They pioneered the art of mobile archery which was passed down to Mongols and central Asian tribes.

Behold the greatest general that ever lived.

Subutai, the Dog of war of the Great Khan.

Subutai was a Mongolian general, and the primary military strategist of Genghis Khan and Ögedei Khan. He directed more than twenty campaigns in which he conquered thirty-two nations and won sixty-five pitched battles, during which he conquered or overran more territory than any other commander in history. He gained victory by means of imaginative and sophisticated strategies and routinely coordinated movements of armies that were hundreds of kilometers away from each other. He is also remembered for devising the campaign that destroyed the armies of Hungary and Poland within two days of each other, by forces over five hundred kilometers apart.

He was mostly involved in Subcontinent only while other Generals mentioned here were involved in Multiple Continents around the World.

He was not outnumbered nor did 'crush' the crusaders in most battles.Hattin was his greatest victory ,won more by startegy and udnerstanding of logistics than tactics alone. He also lost 2 battles to crusaders while outnumbering them badly. He was a good strategist, great leader, mediocre tactician.
He may have lost two battles but in MOST battles,he was outnumbered and still he won those battles by brilliant tactics and ultimately achieved his goal by recapturing Palestine (Bait ul Muqaddas) after 90 years.
