The Moral Dilemma

. . .
Yes, a trait mastered by the politicians and autocratic leaders. :)

I mean playing with human lives without understanding the consequences of death.

"One death is a tragedy; one million is a statistic." - Joseph Stalin

But who's programming the machines is what's being talked about, how will the programmer and lawmaker evaluate who will be run over?

Does a fighter plane delay ejection for the pilot if it knows it is over a city? The answer is already clear.

Hitler reborn! This is called "na rahega bansh, na bajegi bansuri" approach. :P

I initially thought that bugger would send the train in opposite direction after moving that one fella on the track. But no!!.....he turned out to be prodigy with great prospects in politics!!! :D
I felt the same :D

Wrong analogy, a pilot can decide whether to pull the ejection over a populated area, or try to fly in a safe zone if possible.

The boy had a choice...and he made it in a certain manner. And moving that one fella from the other track made his intention clear, in fact, that part was more shocking.

Actually, the correct analogy. The pilot may pull the handle all he wants, my comment was about the plane delaying firing the ejector in order to save lives on the ground. Does a machine owe more to its primary user or to others, is the basic question.

But you're Norwegian, and Norwegians are pretty so you're fine.

I'm also a professional control engineer who writes code for lethal military robots:enjoy:.

But seriously, what's your results from the "test".

I like animals, and apparently hate old ladies, but generally feel cars should stay out of on coming traffic. I prefer fit people to fat people, and give criminals exactly zero value:D.

Cars should kill their occupants, according to me:partay:. Especially if the alternative is them running over a poor little kitty.

"One death is a tragedy; one million is a statistic." - Joseph Stalin

One death is a tragedy if it impacts you. Otherwise it's an attraction.

Eventually AI will evolve and have to make decisions of mortality, the question becomes who is more important when the car can't brake?

That is a philosophical question because you are assigning value to human life. This is a big topic is philosophy, some people like Sam Harris use utilitarian argument to argue for torturing people his argument essentially is killing one man is better than killing two men (if you have to pick one). He gives a hypothetical example that if a person knows about a hidden nuclear bomb it would be just to torture him in order to extract the where abouts of that nuke ie. you can violate the human rights of a person to protect the human rights of more than one person.
If you followed the recent debate on torture in the US, they used utilitarian arguments ie. does torture work or not. While Islam prohibits torture unequivocally ie. it values the human life of one person same as multiple persons, and one can conclude this even by the famous saying "killing one innocent man is like killing humanity".

. .
Not really. I have seen too much death in my years already, up close and personal.

So have I working as a medical officer during my military career. If it was someone I knew, I was saddened. If it wasn't, they were merely something to talk about during our debrief.
