Hollande and putin have found an agreement about the cancellation of the deal. The two ships wont be delivered to Russia and France has to pay 1.2 billions because of the cancellation of the deal,France has already given back the 800millions€ that Russia already paid.
The russian equipments in the ships will be given back.

you know i can get a Fully Loaded BVR capable Rafale in that Price , lets just keep the money :D
what you say bro ? @Gabriel92 :D

so where do the ships ho now? any other buyer?

Thats a very good question.
They will be most likely sold (possible buyers could be Canada,Egypt,India or even Australia),since the CoF of our navy said he doesnt need more mistrals...
Lets wait açd see...
Turkey? Although it won't be good for foreign relations between Russia-Turkey.

Egypt doesn't have the money. Their army is completely funded by the US.

Canada... possible but they don't need that kind of equipment for their foreign policy.

India or Australia is possible.

Possibly China might buy them off. These are big ships and expensive to operate.

@Gabriel92, of all the options, considering the Keels are laid, and that Russian wanted to deploy them to their Pacific Fleet

Canada did have a need for Amphibious Assault Ship.

India not so much. They're requirements for Amphibious Ship is more for humanitarian relief efforts, and tenures issued to domestic shipyards. They bought the USS Trenton to experiment with Amphibious warfare.

Egypt is funded by the Gulf Arabs, they already think they've funded the Egyptian Junta more than they should have.

Australia? Lets be serious, I expect better from you. Of all the countries in the list Australia has the most experience in Amphibious Warfare, but they're becoming hippies.

Last month President Hollande denied claims that a deal had been reached. At that time it was suggested that France would compensate Russia to the tune of €1.16bn.

That sum included the amount that Russia has already spent on special training for 400 sailors, on port infrastructure in Vladivostok for the two warships and on developing four prototype Ка-52К helicopters.

But this is the most interesting news:

Two amphibious assault ships bought for the Russian Navy from France in a 1.2 billion euro deal will not be able to operate in temperatures below seven degrees centigrade, Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin admitted on Saturday, in critical comments about the contract.

The deal was opposed in Russia. @Gabriel92 you got swindled!

There was always a strong opposition in Russia toward the deal nothing new.
Also this nice M. Rogozin didnt elaborate why the mistrals couldnt operate in cold temperatures.
The russians and their medias have been so bsing to force their president to cancel the deal....
If im not wrong, the Mistrals have been specially modified to operate on cold climate, thats why the most possible buyer is said to be Canada.

Pakistan must make use of this exceptional opportunity and buy both the Mistrals.

Highly unlikey- two 40,000 tonne carriers nearer to induction, another 65,000 tonne nuclear carrier about to begin construction, we're pretty much allocated all major carrier funding.
