I wonder if the muslim members here who live in the west came across anyone who has/had tried to recruit them for jihad or take them down that path.....would be good to know how they tackled them....could be a lesson of what to do when faced with such a situation.

I know most of the brainwashing happens over the net, but they do make face to face contact as well...right?.

There was a news article of a FBI agent who was posing as a Muslim extremist trying to recruit young men from a Mosque. One of the Muslim youths reported him to the police and they arrested him only to blow his cover and the whole Muslim community found out he was a gov.t agent.

A lot of these young Muslim men fighting in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere abroad are recruited by Western intelligence agencies themselves. The West has its hands dirty in this "Jihad" business.

I agree about the sting operations in the US, but what about the UK, France, other EU nations etc, there are a conservative 2000 fighters from these countries in iraq and syria. 800 from france alone.

What I wanted to know have any PDF member come across such recruitment attempts.

It emerged yesterday that the girls’ devoutly Muslim Somali refugee parents and their 11 !! children had been moved from an estate made famous by the TV series Shameless to an upmarket suburb, after telling the council they needed more bedrooms.

Although it seems completely random at first, i think there is definitive pattern of dysfunction amongst the type of people who gravitate towards extremism.

I mean growing up in a scummy council estate with 11 siblings is a clue here i think.

Even when they are doctors or rich kids, there is often clear evidence of neglect, depression or family breakdown - many are products of broken homes, domestic violence or parental abuse. (Google Abu Zubaydah Diaries for another example).

Unfortunately, Islam has become the wallpaper these people us to cover the cracks in their lives.

Muslims have easier access to the comprehensive support network of maulvis who waste no time in assigning blame for our ills on others. Plus there's no denying that the millions of religious parents teach children the strictness of Islam but not the love - the unhappy children just take this even further to find their answers..
