The implications of Recovery of £190 million from the UK

Today’s hot breaking news is that NCA of the UK has recovered £190 million from Mr. Malik Riaz in the UK. The amount would be transferred to Pakistan under assets recovery arrangement.

This is a voluntary arrangement entered in to by Mr. Malik Riaz, which means that he has admitted the guilt and instead of fighting the case has agreed to settle.

An accused only enter into a voluntary arrangement when he fails to provide the necessary documents and justifications. The fact that assets and monies from bank accounts are recovered means that they were not obtained by legitimate means, for which the accused failed to provide documentary proofs and legitimate justifications.

It means that the guilt of Malik Riaz is established beyond shadow of a doubt.

But the story doesn’t end here.

The recovery also includes £50 million related to 1 Hyde Park, London. This property belonged to Hussain Nawaz at the time the Panama investigations commenced against Nawaz Butt. Butts considering that they are in the eye of the storm, decided in a hurry to transfer this property to Malik Riaz to avoid humiliation and getting caught red handed.

In other words, it is an admission of guilt by the Butts too.

The sad thing is that there are many properties like this owned by Butts around the world. They are playing hard to catch game. For how long, remain to be seen.

This episode of loot of national wealth and its recovery highlighted another malaise in Pakistani society. The character of Pakistani media or lack of it. Pakistani media is silent about this recovery of a substantial amount of national wealth loot, because the news is regarding Mr Malik Riaz. All most of all of them in-debited to Mr Malik Riaz and wouldn’t speak against the property tycoon.

The biggest media group of Pakistan instead of naming Malik Riaz only used the term “whose business is the biggest private sector employer in Pakistan”.

I am certain that all the big guns of Pakistani media would adopt the policy of the famous phrase of “Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.

.
A Specimen of Pakistani media's ridiculous policies.
The words like "aham, "Property tycoon" is used but shying away from naming Malik Riaz.
In Pakistan personalities are bigger than the nation.
Sad sad fact and reality of Pakistan.

Long Live, Banana Republic of Pakistan.
