The pilots.

Dave Majumdar
November 29, 2016
With Russia and China deploying advanced new fighters and surface-to-air missiles (SAM), the task of gaining and maintaining air superiority over an increasingly more lethal battlespace falls to a small and elite group of U.S. Air Force pilots flying the mighty Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor.

Conceived during the waning years of the Cold War, the stealthy high-flying supersonically cruising Raptor was designed to defeat the most fearsome weapons the Soviet Union could hurl at the United States and NATO during a third world war in Europe. However, with the end of the Cold War and subsequent 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union, the F-22 was left without a mission—or so it was thought. Indeed, the second Bush and Obama administrations cancelled the F-22 program in 2008 after only 195 aircraft—187 production planes—were ordered because they made the assumption that high-end state-on-state conflicts were a relic of the past. However, as it is becoming increasingly apparent, they were wrong.

Langely (cia.gov)... you dont like me posting such things publicly.. that is your nature, to hate leaking to the media.

but i dont want to piss you off or something, i merely want to keep the NATO alliance free from wedges created by (military-hardware) business people, leading to erosion from within for NATO countries (and our allies)..

Let me tell reality ...

This is one of the beauty F-22 , i like the shape and its dynamics, Also the facts on the paper ..

Do not get me wrong, its really good , but it had never seen any nation or air force worthy of being opponent yet.

Tell me , when it came face to face with any modern version of fighters lets say generation 4 and onward. never

please update me if it has ever came thins close to any fighter which is worthy of an opponent ??

I know there will be 1000s of people telling me blah blah blah what it got and how blah blah advance it is, reality is its as good as my pump action riffle which never saw a worthy opponent ever :)

you can say now what ever you feel like....

George Bush introduced F-22 into service. Donald Trump will restart its production.

I doubt it, but I sure as hell hope he does. Most especially an updated refreshed version.

At the bare minimum, another 300 should be produced.

They practice against their own 4th gen fighters which are still among the best military aircraft in the world. They are very far ahead but the disparity between their aircraft and Chinese and Russian aircraft isnt as bad as in the past.

yes, if you read my comment again, thats what i am saying its always "practice against" :)

Its never real thing, you can say its was really close to actual and still its not real:) its always with in defined parameters ...

Titbit: F-22 uses composites for at least a third of its structure. Most of the composites are graphite fibers in epoxy. The graphite fibers strengthen the epoxy like glass does in fiberglass. But the graphite fibers can be as much as four times as strong as glass fibers. These composites are preferred over metals because they are about five times lighter than steel.

Did China and Pakistan has any project to build these materials.
Off topic:
Pakistan is far behind right now.
And reasons are obvious, we lack in research and there is no knowledge and mind base that can push us to develop a technology relevant enough to the times we are living in.We as a nation don't like failures. And experiments can fail but meanwhile they teach you things you haven't thought before.
It's not all dark as there is commitment on the part of PAF to develop Kamra as an aviation city. They are promising big things.I hope they don't convert it into another all military organization tightening the bolts and remodeling the neurons of the researchers at the end, that they may get out of their system at Kamra.
