Exactly, not only this but these buildings have been constructed on the open spaces or encroaching on the road and streets especially on the pavements (footpaths, sidewalks) where there should be open space. Lahore and most other cities lack open spaces for parks, sports arenas and greenery..We need openness. The narrow and dingy streets reduce the business. So we need clean and spacious pavements, lined with trees and not brick and mortar ..I see your point but the problem is we have to look beyond the life of this government. With our ignorant electorate don't be surprised if Nawaz is sat back in PM House in 2013. Then all his cronies are going to push to get back their possessed properties. Knocking them down erases their dodgy claims. It offers zero possibility of return on the money they invested which is about as potent a message "don't encroach".
