The Economist explains Why Bangladesh’s politics are broken

Economist is pathetic. It has openly chosen sides before in each country where it reports.

Economist wrote a balanced article here, not taking any sides. Sides r taken by indian pagans. Should i quote the official statements of your pagan officials supporting hasina and the numerous articles by Indian analysts defending hasina.

Now the government claims it is combating acts of vandalism and terrorism by the BNP. The opposition accuses the government of trying to create a one-party state. Both sides have a point.

If you don't agree with the article because of its apparent bias, then do post on developing a remedy for the present political crisis in Bangladesh.

Half of the problem can be solved if only we can get rid of Mujib and Zia family.

I don't think he has even read it.

Indians have their own reasons about disliking The Economist. Some call it 'The Racist'. Their crude assumption that we are the same is a wrong one.

And would the solve our dilemma, brother? Or would that make it worse by another retarded family line? The tricky part is addressing that vacuum if such an event is to occur.

For starters, those armed and more than willing to use violence student wings are a very serious problem that could have serious complications for our socio-political environment. Our media do not report and let alone research enough on this threat.

The main point is democratization within the party. And term limitation. There is no democratic culture within the political parties, S. Hasina and Khaleda Zia run respective party in autocratic ways so no capable leader are flourishing. This two women want to transfer their power to their respective son which will only result the continuation of the sorry state of present situation. So democratic reform within parties and term limits are very important.

BAL's only "point" is it has Indian backing. otherwise it could not stay in power a single day - it could not kill a single opposition person

yea India knows BAL and hasina is their trusted and tested friend so they will hurt this govt. though BJP led govt have come to power . so BNP's hope of India's changing its policy towards Bangladesh seems unlikely .last night BBC bangla have confirm quoting senior BJP leader
