With debate continuing to rage over whether women should take up combat roles, Forces TV has been to a country for whom they have been fighting on the front line since 1988.

Emma Nelson went to Denmark to see what effect it has had on the armed forces there

Interesting thing to see that the Danish military has equal standards for men and women... so they set requirements according to the job, and not the gender

danmark is not the first one tho.

The first one is Israel, they have mixed Male/Female combat unit and a complete Female unit in their rank.

Then the swede actually have female SF

Then the US and Australia

You can have equal physical standard either by increasing women's reqmt or decreasing men's reqmnt. So, how does danish reqmnt compared to other countries? Which "frontline" they are involved in?

Women requirements were lifted to the requirements for men...

The Danish army has one of the most modern fitness regimes
Military Fitness Testing ~ P. NORTH FITNESS

Pretty unorthodox compared to other nations and definitely better than whatever we got in all of South Asia...

Dont know about Israel, but Sweden have the same standard, so did US and Australia is different according to posting

My wifes sister is a lieutenant in the infantry and trying her luck with the special force later this year lol..

they used to draft women too
