The Country Where All Public Transit Is Free

From March 1st 2020, Luxembourg will have free public transit throughout the country: you'll be able to travel on buses, trains, trams, and that one funicular railway without a ticket. It sounds like a good idea: but is it?

Less than 20 % travel by transit, that means more than 80% will be paying taxes for tourist and less than 20% of population. I don't know if the lady is exaggerating but I cannot believe it is financially better to live in France, Belgium, Germany and buy car then to live in Luxembourg and use the transit (which the host said is low cost?)

Luxembourg is notorious for traffic jams so wouldn't make much difference. More than half of its workforce comprises of cross border travel and those people don't use public transport at all.
