The Conflict in Syria as it Relates to Turkey | Updates & Discussions

Some more developments on the situation in North Aleppo..
Rebels are fighting back against the SAA, the SAA has captured alot of towns/villages thanks to non-stop russian bombing and supplies on the ground. (new weapons,uniforms/armor/helmets AND things like the T90 tank!)
As if this wasnt enough, the Kurds are now slowly starting to take over villages in the small rebel pocket bordering Turkey! The YPG/SDF are acting like real rats and are probably thinking about taking over rebel territory so they only have to fight ISIS in order to control northern Syria.

Turkish government meanwhile:lazy2:

You can't send weapons to a neighboring country to topple its government and don't expect consequences. If a nationalist was Turkish president, none of this would ever happen, as Erdogan took this decision solely based on his stupid 'global Islamism agenda'. It's now a lose-lose game for Turkey. Either of Assad wins or loses right now, Turkey is the loser. If Assad loses, you will witness an internal war and terrorism playground on a scale that current situation would look like a walk in the park. Assad is already in his position and terrorists are killing each other, I can't imagine what they'd do if they wanted to get bigger piece of the cake in the case of power vacuum erupted afterwards.

So in a nutshell, you send more weapons you lose, you send less weapons you lose. I know you won't accept this, especially coming from an Iranian, against whom you naturally take guard, but the only thing we can do is to wait and see what happens afterwards.

I agree on alot of what you said but my main concern is a Kurdish defacto state in Northern Syria, especially when the groups that operate within these areas have connections to terrorist groups in Turkey. As an Iranian you should be concerned as well, Iran has experienced terrorism from the same people.

We don't accept a defacto Kurdish state. Our hope is for Syria to just go back to pre-2011.

I am completely against the idea of breaking up states, doesn't matter where in the middle east. It's such a moronic idea. We need to move forward to have countries join together, not break apart. Even our leaders suddenly decide to give the Kurds a gift, and create a Kurdish country out of Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Turkey, what would happen? Iraqi Kurds and Syrian Kurds and Iranian Kurds and Turkish would fight each other. Then we'd start talking about separating them into North Kurdistan, East Kurdistan, The Islamic Democracy of Kurdistan, the People's Kurdistan Republic, or whatever.

It would have been nice if things just remained like this,

Divide and rule, ancient strategy.
But a danger in the 21 th. century, cause they are not from the Balkans and much more radical minded and open to terrorist activities.

ISTANBUL, Feb 11 (Reuters) -
Turkey will be patient up to a point over the crisis in Syria and will then be forced to take action, President Tayyip Erdogan said in a speech to a business forum on Thursday.
Erdogan also said Iran-backed forces in Syria were carrying out "merciless massacres" and that the United Nations needed to do more to prevent "ethnic cleansing" in the country. His speech in Ankara was broadcast live on television. (Reporting by Daren Butler and Asli Kandemir; Writing by David Dolan; Editing by Nick Tattersall)

@Sinan I assume he means an invasion on Syria, right? This guy won't relax until he brings Turkey on the verge of a dire crisis. Every single foreign policy decision he has made is so far a failure. Let's see what MB gang has in mind.
Nothing about that on Turkish media.

I found this.
"

He was criticizing UN&EU as earlier they said "Turkey should open it's borders for refugees"....He says"We will do what's necessary" and adds "Buses or airplanes are not staying idle, we would send them"...he is trying to say that, if we open the borders, we would take them in and send them to Europe.

He also says this recent wave of refugees caused by the Assad Forces and Russia, UN should warn them not us.

Interpreted wrongly...and to add, he has no balls for any type of war.

What will Turkey do when the Northern borders are completely sealed off by seperatist Kurds, Assadist and the mercenary organizations (Iran, Russia and Iraq etc) which will probably happen by the end of this month?

I have noticed Turkish stance increased in the recent weeks because of this. It seems they are desperate but why should they and what is stopping them from intervening?

Kurds are now advancing under Russian air cover and are working with Iranian backed forces

Now with the nuclear deal Iran has no worrys and is becoming more open about its role in Syria

I think Western country's need to put pressure on Russia by deploying heavy militray prescence in Europe, on land on sea and in the air

NATO needs to rebalance this equation by excerting more actions for some reason NATO is scared to death from Russia

Turkey needs to start getting aggressive with Russian violations and get the MANPADS to Turks in Syria the stinger already took down the Soviet Union

This will split the Russian defences in Europe in a East and West sections then we can start to pick Russia apart

If you leave Russia this time like they did for Crimea trust me another European country's is next

YPG moving in on the city of Azaz in northern Aleppo as we speak, rebels are getting bombed by russian and AMERICAN planes to support the YPG in taking over rebel territory. Theyre creating a defacto state right on Turkey's border and the government is just watching.

Those who killed Saddam and Kaddafi are war criminals and are responsible what happens.
Poor minded Muslim world.
