Sputnik: Your country has been long importing US-made weapons, even became of the largest arms buyer, but now Russian arms seem to be getting a lot of attention in the region. Is Islamabad planning to purchase Russian weapons as well? Are you considering the purchase of the S-400 air defense systems?

Imran Khan: As I’ve said, once the Cold War was over. Previously Pakistan was tied to the US, and, as we all know, India was tied to the Soviet Union. And no longer is that situation there. First, we hope that our tension with India decreases, so we do not have to buy arms because we want to spend money on human development. But, yes, we are looking for arms from Russia, and I know our military is already in touch with the Russian military.

Hope we don't get bogged down by maintenance hungry Russian jets, just get Panstirs to counter Indian CAS, no need for anything massive
But what abt Pantsir's performance in Syria? If Israelis can jam the system im sure India would be able to as well

Thing is that was because the israelis knew where the thing was , they only had to deal with one system with poorly trained men and not a professional army with its own dedicated EW battalions and multiple, I mean 10s of different g2a systems in one area, plus the Panstirs would be doing escort defence , not sitting ducks on a airfield , and we should get the variant with the 30mm and AHEAD rounds to get rid of any drone swarms , 3 to 5 AHEAD and any drone would be toast 600m away due to AHEAD bursting into a million fragment, plus the missiles could take care of APACHES from far far away , yes I'm aware they're are heli tactics to over come this , but those tactics do decrease combat effectiveness overall

So T90 r coming plus more Mi35, Mi26 Helis S400 Trump can give us hard time Mig 35 or Su 34,35 let's see what's pan out.
10 billions Arms deal sound correct.

Agree.....neither is Pakistan in a position to pay for the SU's or Mig's nor is Russia in a position to provide it on loans....But I would still be happy if we can get some good SAM systems.

I don't even think PAF wants SU-35 anymore, they are happy with JF , and they are pretty busy with JF-17 and JF-17B order for themselves and various other customers , Russians SAMS are good , and Mil'35 are very important for us to protect CPEC/PAK-AFG border/PAK-IRAN border , and also conduction some targeted special ops inside Afghanistan .

Su 35 ?
S400 ?
T90 ?
Sky Lab Armata ?

joke Aside.. no to all big ticket items. most likely transport equipment or at best some Mi 35 gunships.
S400 is a very big ticket item it has strategic implications and would go against Indo Russian relations

26 JF17 will replace F7 sharp shooter Sqd plus OC from different Aircraft type.Su or Mig will be escorted by JF17 that's how it will work.

We are good in copycat..we are best in maintenance..I believe we are one of the best in world in repairing of motherboards and mechanical . We will not have the issue to fix those jets..
