Can india actually match china in the near future in economy or military?

Our definition of prosperity and rising is a bit different from the Chinese. It has its own drawbacks like slow approach, corruption, tin-pot nation-looting politicians and all, but we can get there. They're just a decade and a half ahead of us in terms of economic reforms that were introduced early. The difference is that in Chinese political system, since it is a single party authoritarian state, they have immense power to mobilize resources rapidly compared to our system which is very slow.

But they have their merits and de-merits and we have ours. Though I must say that there has to be a strong amendment in Indian system of ruling and elimination of a lot of people and rules set down, to make best of our method of rising.

But then everyone knows that, even India's very own armed forces.

We are very close to cover whole China with Agni-V MIRV (5,000KM) Agni-6 (MIRV) - 6,000-7,000KM in 2 years only. Not only that we will have 2nd Strike capability too specifically for China with K-4,5 upto 6,000KM too for nuclear Submarine BM. 75% China already covered. Yes, China also covered India but doesn't matter "Tit for Tat"

Gone are the days, when China was 20 years ahead than India in Military. What China has, We also have or will have (Development/Production). So, There are challenges from China aggression but we are improving a lot specially for last 5-6 years.

Economy doesn't matter in War like situation. Because even country with 100 Bn $ GDP says "They are Powerful". lol

Yes !! we know our enemy is superior to us..unlike one of our neighbours we dont claim some mythological superiority(1 indian = 10 chinese)..we know what we face..but it will not stop us from defending our land...Let china attack us in AP or kashmir or any part of india..we will fight to our dying breath..

But we were the invaders right, as the story goes! Weird thing is that most soldiers were not even supplied properly..Some invasion we plan....

The much more likely scenario, is a border war between India and Pakistan, a situation where Pakistan draws in Chinese involvement.

Why India is always trying to consider China as an enemy instead of a friend? Is it just because there was a regional war 50 years ago?

There is room for both to grow and grow they will.

What we are seeing is just posturing of two ' adolocents' who live in the same region. Quite natural .

A powerful globalized economy can get you powerful friends. Powerful military Allies more than friends.

Economic implications for China?from when.

Most of the Chinese happily proclaim here that India is not even one of the top trading partner of China.

China is an intelligent player,it will never directly get involved with India,not even at the behest of Pakistan,all they will do is providing infinite support behind closed doors.
