Just a question for you guys, do you see a place in the test side for either of these 2 All Rounders now that Shoaib Malik is captain?
if we are to assume we will play 4 bowlers and try to find 2 legit openers how does that leave any room for Afridi? Razzaq i think we know is going to find it extremely hard to get a place now

as an example using the terms above ie 2 openers one of whom is the vice,4 bowlers and 1 all rounder who is now the captain i get a team like this...

1.Butt (vc)
2.Nazir
3.Younis
4.Yousuf
5.Inzamam
6.Malik (c)
7.Akmal
8.Akhtar
9.Gul
10.Kaneria
11.Asif

now im sure we wont be trying Afridi as an opener in tests any more,Malik has the all rounders role aswell as the added spinner
just where does Afridi go? unless you replace Inzamam when he retires with Afridi but we know that wont happen as it is believed they want to groom a youngster like Fawad Alam
The only other option would be Malik opening and Afridi at 6 but i dont see Malik,as captain putting himself out to open

so should Afridi and Razzaq be resigned to being bench warmers for Pakistani test cricket?

Afridi shoudl be dropped, i never considered him good enough to make the Pak team. But surprisingly he was persisted with.

Razzaq is definitly genuine talent, along with Mahmood he provided considrable balance to the Pakistan team. but now i dont know how fit he is and abt his form?

Cricket wouldn't be same without Afridi. Although I lost interest in cricket longtime back I still enjoy watching Afridi play knowing that it would be a short but entertaining period.
