Modern camouflage is based on certain principles. The colours and shapes used should be natural or often they must be present in a certain necessary environment.

Natural patterns are also essential. There is no point in having suitable colours in the woods if camouflage shapes display large triangles. Straight lines are rarely found in nature.

Hence camouflage can be considered an art that depends on the consistency of shapes with the appropriate colours..

I wonder if camouflage color can actually be exploited as a vulnerability.
For instance if you captured an enemy soldier and had his uniform you would know the exact color shades in his uniform (beyond the discernabilty of the human eye}. you then could program cameras to look for these colors. While to us it would be hard to pick out a shade but for a camera that can distinguish 1000's of shades of say green in an instant you'd be a sitting duck.

The main purpose of camouflage is not to be seen..but once captured it has no meaning anymore.. the camouflage is made to deceive the human eyes at first.. and not every soldier can carry a powerful camera that need AI to distinguish 1000's of shades..

Like in this instance.. you really need to be a few feet from this guy to see him.. otherwise.. you are already a dead duck..

This is exactly what I'm thinking. A camera with excellent color vision could pick out color shades beyond our comprehension. What we see as a handful of green shades in the distance is going to look like a multicolored rainbow to the camera. Programming that particular shade to stand out would be like picking out a bright pink in a sea full of blue.

Just imagine killer drones ONLY targeting soldiers with specific color shades in a chaotic battlefield (ie troops in close quarters). It would be ignoring everybody else.
