Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) has expanded its forces with three new brigades, taking advantage of the ceasefire in Greater Idlib.

In an official statement released on April 14, the terrorist group listed the new brigades as follows:</p>

• The Talhah ibn Ubaydullah Brigade, led by Abu Hafs Binnish;
• The Ali ibn Abi Talib Brigade, led by Abu Baker Mheen;
• The Zubayr ibn al-Awam Brigade, led by Abu Mohamad Shura.

HTS didn’t reveal why the new brigades were formed, or any information about the number of the brigades fighters or their tasks.

The terrorist group has been taking advantage of the new ceasefire in Greater Idlib, brokered by Russia and Turkey on March 5, to rebuild its military capabilities.

Last month, HTS launched a large recruitment campaign to revive its depleted special forces, the “Red Bands,” as well as its Inghimasi [suicide] force. The group also stepped up the training of new recruits.

HTS’ military buildup reveals the real intentions of the terrorist group, which is clearly preparing for a battle with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies. Last March, the group rejected the Russian-Turkish agreement on Greater Idlib, vowing to continue the fight.

Is Joulani still the head of HTS? I've never seen a rebel leader who was as double-faced as him. He virtually fought every Syrian group. He was one of the main reasons why Syrian rebel groups couldn't form a united opposition.

He still is, not only his group broke the opposition they also tainted the image of it with their former affiliation with Al Qaeda and guys like this roaming around:

I wonder who funds and trains this powerful terrorist organisation? This has always been a mystery, we see many strong terrorist organisations but nobody discusses about their fundings, trainings, foot soldiers, ideology.

HTS is stuck in Syria. SAA or even the Turks will eventually wipe them out.

They made quite some money from hostage exchange during their days as Al Nusra Front...probably nowadays it's mainly donors and taxes...they seem to be in a tight financial situation, some of their members and supporters were repeatedly asking for donations on Twitter last year
