TF-X Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircraft Projects

What could he be talking about? any ideas?
They said that TAI isn't planning to develop civilian planes, but that Boeing was planning to make a medium plane and that they wanted to be part of that project. I assumed the medium Boeing plane was a civilian plane and hope TAI will enter this project for know-how and experience. Other than my assumptions, I don't know what kind of plane it is.

Boeing Sees Airline Thirst for New Mid-Range Jetliner Family
Boeing Co. is seeing strong airline interest in a new mid-range aircraft on its drawing board, bolstering the case for its biggest potential product development of the next 10 years.

No current-generation aircraft are specifically designed for long flights within a region, like the seven-hour trek from Tokyo to Singapore, said Ray Conner, chief executive officer of Boeing’s commercial aircraft unit, told reporters at a Sunday briefing ahead of the Farnborough International Airshow in the U.K.

“There is clearly a market desire or need,” Conner said.

What does Malaysia have to put on the table on next gen fighter tech?

money.....

Turkey will invest 7 billion dollars for TFX, if you now what the americans and russian invested this is nothing. They will learn a lot of and they will buy it.

A TFX without any export will be financial disaster.

7 billion ( I have no idea total of investment research and development)to 200 pieces tfx fighter: 35 million dollars without production and raw materials costs. :)
technologic investment cost would be 35 million dollars for a fighters If Turkey produced just 200 fighters.

That makes perfect sense. Since Malaysia and Indonesia are neighbors of similar power, they must be rivals like iran and turkey (my opinion, please tell me if you have info about this region) Since indonesia is working with South Korea Malaysia could work with us!

Actually Turkey and Indonesia already have some projects like medium weight tank.

That doesn't contradict my statement. Turkey and Greece are rivals, but they buy from the same vendor (the US). So can Indonesia and Malaysia.
What I am saying is there is probably no room for malaysia in the KFX project. Or they didn't like being the junior partner to South Korea and Indonesia. Yet, they don't want to fall behind Indonesia. So it makes sense for them to join the TFx project.

7 billion is only an estimate, large projects are bound to go over budget. And the company making it (TAI probably) will expect to make a profit per sale too.

Plus are we going to order 200?
