China was the leader back in 2009 with BYD making huge 100% EV "first World family sedan" promises attracting Warren Buffet.
But it was all smoke and mirrors. Over 10 years later and their "World car" is still vaporware.
Tesla went from a nobody to having the #1 EV model in China in 2020. BYD still scrambling.
Here's Elon Musk calling BYD out 10 years ago as a complete phony...even predicting they will be lucky to stay alive in China when other EV companies start selling cars there.

BYD has a lot of business interest from selling EV batt, EV bus, ev industries product and even monorail. Selling EV is just one of its business. And they are doing very fine with BYD Han. If not for the limited production of blade battery. They could have sell more.

But most Chinese citizen are happy with CPC. They just saw China growing stronger everyday. We just commission many shiny new naval ships. economy doing well and China is far from the pandemic like west and India. Why break the pattern if works? Sacrifice abit of freedom for a safer, better manage country is the interest for all Chinese citizen. There is no stopping any Chinese citizen if they want to leave China.
Btw, Modi is elected thru western democracy system that supposed to turn their life better and no worst. Democracy fail just like how Hitler was elected to power.

Some years ago, I remember watching a channel where a Taiwanese told his followers that there is only one color of clothing that is worn by the Chinese in the mainland.
It is blue with a Red Star on their caps.
If they really wants to know, go and visit China like we all did.
