I wrote something and want to post it on reddit and turns out unsuccessfull. so here maybe it can get more people interested in BYD
before starting sth to be clarified： I see several threads about BYD and chinese cars, sees people here in reddit hold a nagetive opinion about them. and this seems has a relation of prejudice from so-called low quilty "made in china"s (Despite the fact that everything in this whole world is nearly made in china, u can find good madeinchinas, u can also find bad madeinchinas. in most of the situation, its the money u pay decide the quality~chinese manufactures are not charity agencies, they make money from good products, they also make money from bad products.) But when we talk only about car industry, china could not make good products on its own in past years, this is true. specificly, people here worry most about byd cars:1、safety(CNCAP is doubted here);2、quality and reliability；3、whether the Pure electric range is true?( Tang EV can really reach 600km?); 4、above all ，is BYD really making some game-changing products？（or is BYD still a joke compared with Tesla？）
but BYD tang is really an interesting car. its sales number monthly is about 5000 to 8000 pieces in china，which is comparable with Toyota highlander（best selling SUVs in china and even in the world）
In china there is a car subsidy policy in major cities（city like Beijing、Shenzhen、Shanghai and some 10 million population cities ）that buying PHEV cars can cuts about RMB50000yuan most for consumers. but this subsidy is cutting down every year and to get the subsidy those phev cars must rise the e-range to a every-year-rising standard, which make pressure to BYD to promote its PHEV car and ev car e-range. in most of the cities, there are no subsidy for PHEV cars. but those subsidy cities are already big markets for BYD.
about BYD Tang DM（BYD 唐DM or BYD 二代唐 or BYD second generation Tang），DM means dual mode. it is well know of 0-100km in 4.5s，e-AWD abilities，and oil-saving. u can buy this car in china with less than RMB300000yuan. it is a 4.83meters long, 2.38ton SUV car. remember this. its battery is quite heavy. but, Fuel consumption seems ok . many buyers in china have reported that the fuel consumption is about 9L-11L/100km in mixed road conditions（including urban road which is quite traffic jam and highway which u can driven with more than 110km/h）. and this data is tested with low electricity remained. considering its weight and SUV type, this data is quite acceptable. traditional SUVs at this weight level will burn more than 15L/100km. many tang DM owners also report their using experience in China's biggest car forum. they have even drive Tang DM to Tibet，where the road condition has the severe tests for cars and drivers on their off-road ability and engine power and many other things. here is one of the biggest forums： https://club.autohome.com.cn/bbs/forum-c-4802-1.html

if a car performs good in Tibet ,then it can deal with most of the situation in rest of the world. if u can understand Chinese language, u will get more detail information about Tang DM cause this car really subvert the traditional concept of Chinese car consumers about chinese cars. So many reports and threads about its 4X4 ability(very good)，accalerating ability(very good)，Maneuverability(OK)，digital technic(very good)，chassis and material(quite good). the only thing we need to know is its reliability. by so far Tang DM seems reliable with the reports from so many owners, but we still need time prove it.
