Ever since I can remember, ordinary people just did not believe in queuing when buying cinema tickets, even in the post office people try to jump the queue. Whenever I go to Pakistan and take the car out, on all roundabouts and at traffic lights people try enter from the sides. Similarly when police try to stop people they dont listen. In UK only a yellow tape is put across and no one will attempt to cross it not so in Pakistan. One of my brothers rented a house in PIB colony in Karachi, I could see people had encroached on the road by extending their houses by unto one yards, thereby narrowing the road with barely enough space for a car to pass.
Quaid asked us to observe Unity, Faith and discipline; Pakistanis in general have completely ignored these maxims. We see people spitting every where and sewers choked with polyphone bags, streets hardly ever get cleaned.
Hassan Nissar has pointed out what is wrong in our society. Basically lack of discipline, impatience, ignorance and lack of regards for others, otherwise down right selfishness in the society at large. What is worrying that these flaws are now the norm and even villages have become dirty? Islamabad is the only exception.
Regret to be negative, but while there is universal emphasis on observance of Islamic rituals such as wearing Hiram, keeping beard. No one cares about being a decent human being or on personal and public hygiene.
IMO instead of Islamization of the society we should try to become decent human beings; we will automatically acquire many of the Islamic virtues. However, at this moment Pakistan is fighting the war of survival, once this is over, priority should be to reform the society at large.
